The Opportunity
As a Digital Transformation Lead- Contracts & Procurement, you will be a strategic partner in transforming Abt Global (Australia/UK) enterprise contracting activities. You will lead initiatives that digitize and automate contracting workflows, enhance operational efficiency, and embed AI-enabled decision-making into contracts, procurement and grants processes and management.
Core Responsibilities
Digital Transformation & Enablement
- Digital Framework Development: Design and implement a digital-first contracting framework – including high level strategy, as well as operational and tactical execution. This may also include projects including smart templates, e-signature workflows, and real-time dashboards/registers for contract lifecycle management. Ensure systems are scalable, secure and user-friendly.
- Lead Digitization of Contracts & Grants: Work towards operational and tactical execution of identified needs, including collaborating with programmatic stakeholders and understand user needs, experiences and interface requirements. Champion equity-aware and risk-sensitive digital solutions, including automation of approvals, document processing and other workflows using digital platforms..
- AI Governance & Integration: Support the Director – Contracts and Procurement in AI-strategy and governance, including participation in the Australian IT Service Committee and AI Working Group. Advise on AI use cases in contract analytics, deliverable and financial tracking/oversight, risk profiling, and compliance tracking.
- Data-Driven Contracting: Leverage analytics to monitor performance, identify bottlenecks, and support strategic decisions and directions. Develop metrics to evaluate the impact of automation and AI tools.
Strategic Contracting & Procurement
- Provide technical advice across consultant, subcontractor, grant, supplier, and property contracts processes and procedures.
- Support business growth teams with contracting strategies for new opportunities, emphasizing digital readiness.
- Draft procedures and deliver training to support digitized processes and tools.
Capacity Building & Change Management
- Deliver training on digital tools, AI tools, and contracting systems to internal teams and programs.
- Mentor program contracts staff and empower decision-making through simplified, digitized templates and processes.
- Promote a culture of innovation, inclusion and continuous improvement.
Subtraction & Simplification
- Streamline documentation and workflows to reduce complexity and improve clarity.
- Implement standardized procedures and track effectiveness using digital metrics and feedback loops.
What We Value
- Demonstrated understanding of digital transformation principles, automation and/or AI strategy and governance frameworks, particularly in legal or transactional environments.
- Hands-on experience with tools such as SharePoint, Power Automate, PowerBI, DocuSign, and other Microsoft platforms—with a strong appetite to explore emerging technologies that support strategic growth and delivery excellence while delivering value for money.
- Proven track record in automation, digitisation, and innovation across contracts management, legal operations, or similar transactional portfolios.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and change management capabilities, with the ability to influence, train, and support diverse teams through digital transitions.Bachelor’s Degree + Five years of relevant experience, or Master’s Degree + Three years of relevant experience strongly preferred.
