Contribute to a high-impact digital transformation project: Support the migration of the G-77’s institutional website to the UN Unite Web platform, ensuring improved usability, accessibility, and content quality.
Develop professional skills in content management and web publishing: Gain practical experience with UN web tools (Drupal 10 CMS) and global communication standards.
Support the preservation of institutional memory: Help organize and present archival and current content that reflects the G-77’s historical and ongoing contributions to multilateral diplomacy.
Engage in a dynamic UN environment: Work closely with the Executive Secretariat and UNOPS teams in New York, collaborating with professionals in digital communications, knowledge management, and international cooperation.

The UNOPS Global Portfolios Office (GPO) unites the New York Portfolios, including the Peace and Security team (PSC); the Geneva Office; and the Vienna-based Water, Environment and Climate (WEC) teams, to maximize global impact, foster efficiencies and streamline global programmes. Leveraging our collective expertise and networks, GPO supports UNOPS” strategic priorities and the SDGs across over 130 countries. We deliver project management, fund management, advisory services, project implementation, and HR services, working closely with major global partners. Our thematic focus includes sustainable development, climate action, health, peace & security, and humanitarian action.
UNOPS supports partners to build a better future by providing services that increase the efficiency, effectiveness and sustainability of peace building, humanitarian and development projects. Mandated as a central resource of the United Nations, UNOPS provides sustainable project management, procurement and infrastructure services to a wide range of governments, donors and United Nations organizations. New York Service Portfolios Office (NYPO) supports the United Nations Secretariat, as well as other New York-based United Nations organizations, bilateral and multilateral partners in the delivery of UNOPS mandate in project management, infrastructure management, and procurement management.
Sustainable Development Cluster (SDC) supports diverse partners with their peacebuilding, humanitarian and development operations. It was formed by combining the following portfolios: Grants Management Services (GMS), UN Technology Support Services (UNTSS), Development and Special Initiatives Portfolio (DSIP) It provides Services to partners” programmes that are designed, structured, and managed with a global perspective and primarily serving partners that are headquartered in New York. The SDC has a footprint of approximately 125 countries.
The Group of 77 (G-77) was established on 15 June 1964 by seventy-seven developing countries that signed the “Joint Declaration of the Seventy-Seven Developing Countries” at the conclusion of the first session of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) in Geneva. Following its First Ministerial Meeting in Algiers, Algeria (10–25 October 1967), which adopted the Charter of Algiers, the Group established Chapters with liaison offices in Geneva, Nairobi, Paris, Rome, Vienna, and Washington, D.C. (the Group of 24). Although its membership has expanded to 134 countries, the original name has been retained for its historic significance. The First South Summit, held in April 2000, established a permanent Executive Secretariat at United Nations Headquarters in New York, which serves as the institutional core and memory of the Group, providing technical and substantive support, and facilitates coordination among all Chapters to ensure the effective implementation of the Group’s decisions and mandates.
The internship position is situated within the Development and Special Initiatives Portfolio (DSIP) under the Sustainable Development Cluster (SDC) of the New York Portfolios Office (NYPO). The intern will provide technical and creative support to the Executive Secretariat of the Group of 77 (G-77), focusing on enhancing its digital presence and knowledge management capacity.
As part of UNOPS’ support to the G-77, the intern will contribute to the modernization and migration of the Group’s website to the UN Unite Web (Drupal 10) platform. This involves close collaboration with the Secretariat team to ensure that the website reflects the Group’s institutional identity, adheres to UN accessibility and branding standards, and effectively communicates the Group’s work, history, and current initiatives.
The role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in web content management, digital communications, and information organization within a multilateral environment. The intern will also gain insights into intergovernmental processes and the coordination of developing countries’ positions within the United Nations system.
