WE ARE
The Directorate-General for International Partnerships (DG INTPA) is responsible for designing EU
development and international cooperation policies and for implementing EU partnership
instruments. Unit INTPA A1 “Strategic Partnerships with Africa and with ACP” steers and monitors
the implementation of the EU Strategic Partnership with Africa, and its sectoral articulation in the
different thematic priority areas at continental/ regional/ bilateral levels. It leads on and
coordinates Commission participation in EU-AU inter-institutional events (Summits, Ministerials,
Commission-to-Commission, high level events, dialogues). It coordinates Commission participation
in EU-OACPS
(Ministerial and Ambassadorial meetings, Joint
Parliamentary Assembly sessions) including of the joint institutions of the Africa protocol. It
manages the stakeholders’ relations in both strategic partnerships.

WE PROPOSE
We propose an interesting job as secretary to work as part of a 2-person team. The successful
candidate will ensure the smooth running of the Unit secretariat, providing general administrative
support to the Head of Unit, the deputy Head, and Unit members. The job will involve various
secretarial and administrative support tasks such as handling SYSPER, ARES, BASIS, MIPS, DECIDE
and related procedures, organising meetings, etc. Our secretariat plays a key role in ensuring that
the Unit continuously operates smoothly and with a client-oriented approach.
WE LOOK FOR
A motivated, proactive and well-organised person with good secretarial and administrative skills.
S/he should be self-motivated, be able to organise her/his work autonomously and show a strong
sense of initiative and responsibility. A friendly, positive attitude, good communication and good
language (English and French) skills, as well as excellent human relations and aptitude to
teamwork, are essential. Attention to detail and the ability to perform multiple tasks and adjust to changing priorities are essential. Good knowledge of the administrative procedures of the
Commission, including IT-based tools (ARES, BASIS, DECIDE, MIPS).
