Specific Outputs/Tasks include but not limited to: 1.1. ERP Assessment and Transition Initiatives: Direct and manage initial phases of UNRWA’s SAP ERP assessment and transition initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy and industry best practices in coordination with all stakeholders. Foster collaboration with other UN agencies, ERP providers and Special Interest Groups (SIG), such as the UN Secretariat Umoja team, to leverage shared knowledge and resources. 1.2. Business Process Analysis: Conduct comprehensive assessment and mapping, analysis, and documentation of current SAP ERP business processes across all functional domains (Finance, HR, Procurement, Supply Chain, Asset Management, Travel). Identify system strengths, weaknesses, and customizations to guide strategic improvements. 1.3. Requirements Engineering: Lead the elicitation, analysis, and documentation of business and technical requirements for all functional domains, extending beyond the current SAP ERP scope. Identify inefficiencies and opportunities for optimization, ensuring rigorous adherence to business analysis standards. 1.4. Benchmarking and Comparative Assessment: Evaluate existing business models and technical solutions at peer UN organizations, with a focus on interoperability and potential consortium participation. Deliver detailed assessment reports and recommendations. 1.5. Interoperability Solutions: Architect and lead the implementation of interoperability solutions between Umoja and UNRWA’s SAP ERP (REACH), ensuring secure, scalable, and efficient data exchange for all regular budget resources. 1.6. Project Planning and Execution: Develop comprehensive project plans, including resource allocation, risk management, and timeline estimation for ERP transformation. Oversee execution, ensuring milestones are met and deliverables align with stakeholder expectations 1.7. Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of emerging SAP technologies, cloud platforms, and ERP best practices. Drive continuous improvement initiatives and ensure knowledge transfer within the team
An advanced university degree (master”s or equivalent) from an accredited educational institution in Information Systems, Software Engineering, Software Architecture, Computer Science, Business Analysis, Business Administration or related disciplines. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. A minimum of ten years of progressively responsible and relevant professional experience as a Project Manager and Business Analyst, preferably in SAP ERP implementations. Unless already serving as an international staff member in the UN Common System, at least two continuous years of relevant international experience outside UNRWA, and outside the country(s) of citizenship is required. Demonstrated expertise in SAP S/4HANA migrations, SAP Business Data Cloud, SAP Cloud Platform, and integration technologies (e.g., SAP PI/PO, SAP CPI). SAP Certified expertise is highly desirable.
English and Arabic are the working languages of UNRWA. For this assignment, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of Arabic is an advantage but is not a requirement.
