JOB DESCRIPTION

Key Responsibilities:
Project Implementation and Coordination
- Lead planning, coordination, and implementation of FMNR interventions within assigned Area Program and target communities.
- Facilitate training and awareness creation for farmers, faith leaders, and community members on FMNR and environmental stewardship.
- Ensure project activities are integrated with livelihoods, food security, and child well-being outcomes.
- Support adherence to project timelines, quality standards, and budget allocations
Technical Support and Capacity Building
- Provide technical backstopping on FMNR, soil and water conservation, and natural resource management.
- Support establishment and management of demonstration plots and farmer learning groups.
- Facilitate establishment of demonstration sites and community learning hubs for FMNR.
- Build capacities of farmer groups, local partners, and faith-based networks on sustainable land management practices.
Community Engagement, Partnerships, and Networking
- Strengthen collaboration with traditional leaders, government agencies (e.g., Forestry Commission, MoFA), and other NGOs on land restoration.
- Engage church and faith networks in promoting FMNR as a faith-based response to environmental stewardship and care for creation.
- Represent World Vision Ghana in district and regional environment and climate resilience coordination platforms.
Grants Resource Acquisition and Management
- Support identification of local and external resource opportunities, including corporate partnerships, community contributions, and co-financing.
- Contribute to development of concept notes, proposals, and budgets for FMNR-related initiatives.
- Ensure proper financial management, accountability, and compliance with donor requirements.
- Collaborate with the Resource Development and Finance teams to track utilization and report on resources.
People and Team Management
- Supervise and mentor field volunteers, and community animators.
- Contribute to teamwork, accountability, aligned with World Vision’s Christian ethos.
- Contribute to a culture of excellence, mutual respect, and learning within the project team.
Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning, and Reporting
- Conduct regular field visits to monitor progress, identify gaps, and ensure data quality.
- Collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative data using approved MEAL tools.
- Document success stories, lessons learned, and community transformation outcomes.
- Support timely and quality reporting to donors, partners, and management.
Field-Level Monitoring and Environmental Compliance & Other Responsibilities
- Track FMNR adoption rates, tree regeneration, and improvements in soil and water management.
- Ensure adherence to World Vision’s environmental safeguards and gender inclusion standards.
- Promote community-level disaster risk reduction and climate adaptation practices.

- Support project visibility through storytelling, media engagement, and community campaigns.
- Participate in internal learning forums, devotions, and faith-based reflection sessions.
Technical Skills & Abilities:
- Strong Computer skills
- Strong knowledge of sustainable agricultural (and /or environmental) techniques
- Knowledge of modern Food security
- Experience in agricultural extension services
- Strong capacity building skills (especially with people with no formal education)
- Experience working with farmers
- Working knowledge of programs or the projects management cycle

- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with all staff and other key partners
- Experience in community mobilization, sensitization and development work
- Strong knowledge of local institutional functioning (e.g. MOFA)
- Strong reporting and communication skills in English
- Good planning and organizational skills
The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:
- Bachelor’s degree in Natural Resource Management, Forestry, Environmental Science, Agriculture, or related field.
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in community-based natural resource management, landscape restoration, or rural development.
- knowledge of FMNR, agroforestry, or ecosystem restoration approaches.
- Experience in partnership engagement, donor compliance, and community mobilization.
- Strong facilitation, communication, and reporting skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, data collection tools (e.g., Kobo, ODK), and basic GIS preferred.
- Ability to ride a motorbike and willingness to travel to remote areas.
- Knowledge of a local language in the Upper East Region would be useful
- Must be a committed Christian, able to stand above denominational diversities.
