In collaboration with Wuhan University and the United Nations University Institute for Water, Environment and Health (UNU-INWEH), the UN-SPIDER Beijing Office is developing an online self-paced course titled “Earth Observation for Sustainable Development: Harnessing the Power of Chinese Satellites”. The course will be hosted on the UNU Learning Center platform (lc.unu.edu) and must follow UNU/UNOOSA visual identity, accessibility and e-learning design standards. Under the supervision of the Head, UN-SPIDER Beijing Office, and in coordination with UNU-INWEH/UNU LC focal points and the Graphic Designer, the consultant will: 1.Technical and platform requirements
An advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in remote sensing, geoinformation science, geography, environmental science, disaster risk management, instructional design, or a related field is required. A first level university degree in similar fields in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. At least two (2) years of proven experience in designing slide decks, infographics and visual templates is required. Excellent skills in Adobe Creative Cloud and/or equivalent tools; ability to deliver accessible, web-optimized assets is required. Demonstrated experience working with international organizations, UN system experience is desirable. Familiarity with geospatial / EO / technical content is desirable.
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this post, fluency in English (both oral and written) is required. Knowledge of another United Nations Secretariat language is an advantage.
