Position Overview:
The Literacy Program Assistant reports directly to the Literacy Program Officer and does not oversee any staff members. This role will be based in Hobigonj district and primarily supports administrative tasks and office management processes. Additionally, the position entails regular travel to program sites and necessitates effective communication and coordination with local partners and vendors.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ensures schools receive materials and furniture at the appropriate time;
- Organizes all logistics (i.e., invitations/coordination of attendees, venues, transportation, lodging, meals, etc.) for Literacy program trainings for Room to Read staff, teachers, and librarians;
- Monitors progress of implementation calendar, budget, annual plan, and overall tracking of program implementation and spending;
- and consolidates all reports on the status and progress of project sites to submit to Literacy Program Officer;
- Collect program implementation monitoring reports, enters and consolidates required data, reviews results and submit to Literacy Program Officer;
- Responsible for data entry of data into GSD (Global Solution Database) for assigned schools; provides regular updates and analysis;
- Involve frequent travel to project sites, and close coordination with local partners, vendors thus requires strong communication and coordination skills

Required Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in education / social sciences or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in development projects, preferably in education
- Strong written and oral communication skill
- Good interpersonal skills and a team player
Preferred:
- Prior success working closely and building relationships with diverse groups of people
- Effectiveness in working or volunteering in a non-profit organization that is focused on maintaining high quality work and low overhead
- Prior experience in a fast-paced, growth-oriented global or regional organization
- Proven track record of achieving results
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities simultaneously and take initiative
- Prior experience living and/or working in rural areas,
- Prior experience working with schools, teachers, administrators and government officials

- Experience in successful implementation of a wide range of tasks as well as developing and implementing improvements in a prior position
General Requirements
- Willingness & ability to visit program sites extensively;
- Skill & experience of working with e-communication & people with diverse culture;
- Strong communication skills in Bangla and English;
- Excellent computer operating skill;
- Ability to work under pressure;
- Comfortable in a performance-based organization working with low overhead budget;
- Proven track record of achieving results;
