JOB DESCRIPTION

WE ARE

The mission of Directorate B is to provide policy guidance, initiate, contribute and follow-up to the overall policy making of DG Migration and Home Affairs in the areas Borders, Interoperability and Visas, policy areas which are of particular relevance for the preservation of the Schengen acquis and the area of free movement.

WE PROPOSE

We are offering an Administrative Assistant position for enthusiastic and committed colleagues who wish to make a positive contribution through a variety of administrative and coordination tasks. The Administrative Assistant (A5T-5C) will provide administrative, logistical and organisational support to Director HOME B – Schengen, Borders & Visa. The duties of the AST-SC include managing agendas, organising events and meetings, mail handling and processing correspondence, monitor and follow-up of briefing requests and briefing packages, inter-service consultations, document management and access-to-documents requests, monitoring deadlines and workflows, organising and monitoring missions.

  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritise tasks, work proactively and contribute to problem solving while respecting deadlines.
  • Good knowledge of Commission procedures for missions, meetings, briefings and relevant IT tools (ARES, Basis, MIPS, Decide, Sysper, Webdor, Mira, V-Pass, CARES, EdiT, ePoetry ).
  • Experience in document management, registration, and filing of documents is required.
  • Good command of French would be an important asset.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and tight deadlines, combined with a strong team spirit. Fluency in English (both written and spoken).
