Program Background

The Economic and Social Infrastructure Program (ESIP) is an Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) program implemented by DT Global.

Under strategic direction from DFAT officials at the Australian High Commission in PNG, ESIP is delivering a range of activities and policy initiatives in the energy and telecommunications sectors. ESIP is also supporting PNG’s state-owned enterprise performance improvement program and delivering social infrastructure planning, design and construction services.

Gender equality, disability and social inclusion (GEDSI) and social and environmental safeguards are a focus of the program and are mainstreamed across ESIP’s activities and operations.

The Role

The Transport Officer will provide safe, reliable, and efficient transport services to ESIP advisers, staff, and visitors, while ensuring vehicles are well-maintained and operational at all times. The role also supports security incident response and contributes to program-wide principles including GEDSI, safeguards, and locally led development.

About You

Key selection criteria for the potential successful candidate includes, but not limited to:

  • Hold a current Class 6 or higher PNG driver’s license
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to take direction and maintain a friendly disposition
  • Some knowledge and / or understanding of applying GEDSI and safeguards principles.
