JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Summary

The Intern will play an integral role in supporting the procurement unit. This internship opportunity offers hands-on experience in assisting with procurement processes, supplier management, and administrative functions. The intern will develop skills related to purchasing strategies, negotiation, and compliance with procurement policies while contributing to the operational efficiency of the team.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  1. Administrative Support- Procurement Related
  2. Vendor Management- Monitor vendor performance and escalate any discrepancies to the procurement team.
  3. Procurement Process Assistance- Assist in the evaluation of supplier bids and quotations based on pre-defined criteria.
  4. Research and Analysis – Support procurement data analysis, including spend tracking, order management, and performance evaluation.
  5. Prepare weekly reports on open commitments.
  6. Perform any other duty that may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Be enrolled in the final year of a bachelor’s degree or be enrolled in a graduate programme or have completed a university degree within the last 12 months.
  • knowledge of English (oral and written) is MANDATORY; knowledge of Dari or Pashto is an advantage
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Excel and able to manage data with attention to detail.
  • Motivated to learn and work in a cross-functional humanitarian team.
