WE ARE
Unit INTPA.G.1 is a dynamic and committed unit working for the promotion of human rights, gender
equality and democratic governance worldwide.
The unit is in charge of the management of the Thematic Programme on Human Rights and
Democracy and provides quality thematic support to other international partnerships programmes,
including in EU Delegations, to ensure a human rights-based approach, gender mainstreaming and
sustainable democracy support, justice, rule of law and anti-corruption reforms and initiatives.
The unit contributes to an enabling environment for the implementation of the Global Gateway.
The unit is also responsible for contributing to the Action Plan on Human Rights and Democracy and
the Gender Action Plan, and their implementation. It is a gender-balanced unit of 30+ people.
WE PROPOSE
The policy officer will provide thematic support and sectoral expertise to identify, develop and
implement programmes and projects in the field of democratic governance with a particular focus
on Rule of Law, Good Governance and Anti-Corruption. This will include development of policies and
a 360° approach to Global Gateway in the field of good governance and justice; rule of law in
fragile contexts; and contributing to the ‘Team Europe Democracy’ initiative. The policy officer will
contribute to integrate anti-corruption measures across all sectors, with reference to the Human
Rights Based Approach (HRBA).
WE LOOK FOR
The post holder will have at least 5 years of relevant professional experience in one or more of the
following domain: Justice, Fighting Corruption, Promoting Accountability and Transparency. An
academic background in a field relevant to the position (e.g. law) will be an advantage.
In addition, having at least 3 years of relevant experience in managing international cooperation
programmes in one or more of the domains listed above would be an asset.
Languages: C1 level in English/ B2 level in French

Ability: Analyse and problem solving, capacity to communicate technical or specialised information
flexibly, resilience, Team player.
