JOB DESCRIPTION

Role: Family Support Worker

Salary: £24,309.07 per annum

Contract/Hours: 12 Month Fixed-term Full time contract working 37 hrs per week.

Location: Long Stratton, Norfolk (You will be expected to travel across South Norfolk and City districts).

A bit about the role

Norfolk”s Early Childhood and Family Service (ECFS) offers support to children aged 0-5 years old and their families. The support is provided within group sessions, parenting programmes and through home visits. The service works in partnership with families, other key organisations and provides group activity sessions which cover a variety of topics such as parenting, improving mental health and keeping a child safe.

How you’ll help to create a brighter future.

As a Family Support Worker, you”ll be:

  • Supporting the development of children by creating fun and stimulating environments to enhance skills and promote emotional resilience and positive behaviour.
  • Providing rich learning environments where children and their families can engage in stimulating play opportunities.
  • Facilitating interventions one to one or in a group to support identified areas of need e.g. infant massage, speech and language development.
  • Being alert to child protection and safeguarding issues and inform appropriate line managers.
  • Be able to travel to remote locations across the county.

We are looking for an energetic and dynamic forward thinker, confident in leading and bringing fresh ideas and inspiration to the role. You will find full job description attached job description details the requirements of the role but the ‘must-haves” are:

  • Level 2 or above qualification in social care, health, education, or early years.
  • Experience of delivering one to one or group support to children and families using the early years foundation stage (or similar).
  • Good IT skills and ability to record concise, accurate case notes.
  • Ability to build safe and effective working relationships with vulnerable young children and adults.
  • Ability and willingness to work in a variety of premises across the county (the role will be required to work across more than one district at times).
