Istanbul International Center for Private Sector in Development (IICPSD) supports the private sector and foundations to become transformative partners in development through research, advocacy for inclusive business, facilitation of public-private dialogue and brokering partnerships. IICPSD, established in 2011 in partnership with the Government of Türkiye, is one of UNDP”s six Global Policy Centres. It leads UNDP’s global work on private sector and foundations and supports UNDP’s offices all over the world. The Center focuses on four thematic areas:
1. Inclusive Business;
2. Private Sector Engagement in Skills Development;
3. Impact investing;
4. Resilience and Crisis Response.
The Center also hosts four global initiatives: Business Call to Action, SDG Philanthropy Platform, Global Islamic Finance and Impact Investing Platform and Connecting Business Initiative.
As part of the Tech4R initiative, UNDP ICPSD and UNDP Armenia are co-developing an integrated digital disaster assessment toolkit combining Kobo Toolbox, AI-enabled data quality checks, and GIS-based visualization. The tool supports the localization of ARIANA-style assessment forms and aims to improve how Armenia collects, analyzes, and visualizes disaster impact information. To ensure smooth adoption and sustainability, all user guides, workflows, and instructions need to be available in Armenian, English, and Russian, reflecting the multilingual context of local authorities and responders.
Volunteer translators will work closely with Armenian volunteers and the documentation team to prepare accurate, clear, and user-friendly multilingual guides that will accompany the final toolkit. Their work is essential to ensuring accessibility and long-term use of the system.
1. Translate User Guides and Workflow Instructions
Translate tool documentation (Kobo forms guide, AI quality checks instructions, GIS visualization steps, admin and user guides) between Armenian ↔ English ↔ Russian.
Ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistent terminology aligned with disaster assessment and digital tools.
2. Collaborate with Armenian Volunteer Teams
Coordinate with Armenian volunteers and the Tool Development, AI, and GIS teams for context clarification and terminology alignment.
Review existing content to ensure translations reflect the technical processes accurately.
3. Adapt Content for Local Usability
Adjust phrasing to match the Armenian operational context while preserving technical meaning.
Ensure all translated guides are easy for local authorities and enumerators to understand.
