Internship Assignment

The Intern will provide operational and administrative support to the ​OAS/Procurement Unit​. S/he will have the opportunity to learn and expand her/his experiences by providing assistance in the ​daily operation of the procurement activities.​

Under the overall guidance of the Procurement Specialist within the ​DCS – Procurement​, the Intern is expected to:

  • Review procurement requests to ensure appropriateness of technical specifications , terms of reference and required documentation. .
  • Conduct market research, including price comparisons, benchmarking, supplier analysis, and identification of potential new sources of supply or service providers.
  • Support the preparation of procurement documentatuon, including Request for Quotations, contracts, communications, instructions, reports, etc.
  • Assist in the development of tender documents and provide administrative and analytical support throughout the entire bidding process, including bid opening, evaluation matrices, and documentation preparation for evaluation panels.
  • •Prepare procurement-related reports, dashboards, and status updates to support procurement planning, monitoring, and compliance reporting.
  • Ensure the procurement processes are in compliance with the procurement guidelines, rules and procedures.
  • Ensure that all procurement documents are filed and records are up to date.
  • Perform other procurement-related tasks as required, contributing to continuous process improvement and operational efficiency.

Requirements and qualifications

  • Enrolled in master’s program (or recently graduated) in ​business administration, law, procurement, ​ or related fields;
  • Knowledge and experience with ​any procurement related activities will be an asset;​
  • Good understanding and experience in operations of international organizations is an added advantage;
  • Proficiency in using standard software programs: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access;
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills;
  • Fluency in English is essential; knowledge of another United Nations languages an advantage.
