About the Program:
WRI Europe collaborates with the European Union institutions, the European Investment Bank, and a wide range of stakeholders to support Europe’s global leadership on climate, development, and environmental issues.
This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain experience within an international NGO dedicated to advancing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Paris Agreement. As an intern, you will gain insight into how the EU and (I)NGOs work together to drive impactful development outcome, particularly in the areas of climate action and environmental sustainability.
What you will do:
In this role, you will be part of WRI Europe’s team focused on engagement and development with European Union institutions. You will support work across four key pillars: engagement, policy, partnerships, and funding. Responsibilities include assisting with outreach to EU organizations and partners, organizing meetings, and preparing presentations, briefs, and other materials. You will also conduct research and analysis on EU funding opportunities, including research and innovation funds, development cooperation grants, and tenders, and support internal coordination around these opportunities, and provide briefings on relevant EU policy developments aligned with WRI’s priorities.
Your internship supervisor will be Janneke de Vries, Head of The Hague regional office and Director of European Partnerships.
