The Physiotherapy Doctor at the UN Health Care Center will be responsible for providing comprehensive physiotherapy services to UN personnel, their families, and eligible beneficiaries. This role is central to promoting physical health, rehabilitation, and functional recovery within the UN community. The individual contractor is expected to uphold the highest standards of medical ethics, professionalism, and confidentiality while working collaboratively in a multicultural and multidisciplinary environment. The UN Health Care Center has the responsibility to provide both core and non-core services to all UN staff and the eligible dependents based in Ethiopia. The core services are provided by the regular staff, including physicians and a few supportive para-medical staff. The non-core services, also known as curative services, are provided both by regular physicians and consultants who are recruited in different fields of medicine. The Physiotherapy Doctor service is intended to provide core and non-core services to UN staff and the dependents in this field. This individual contractor Service is located at the United Nations Health Care Center in the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, Division of Administration. The present TOR is intended to guide the ICs in the dispensation of their duties at UNHCC to ensure clients” satisfaction and respect the organization”s rules and regulations from the health standpoint of view. RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the direct supervision of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and any designated Officer, the IC will perform the following duties: • Conduct thorough physical assessments, diagnoses, and develop individualized physiotherapy treatment plans tailored to patient needs. • Deliver a wide range of therapeutic interventions, including manual therapy, exercise prescription, and modalities for pain management and rehabilitation. • Educate patients on self-management strategies, injury prevention, and the importance of ongoing physical activity. • Prepare and maintain accurate, comprehensive physiotherapy reports and documentation for referring clinicians as required. • Consult with medical staff regarding physiotherapy findings and recommend further investigations or referrals when appropriate. • Ensure the proper operation, maintenance, and safety of all physiotherapy equipment and adhere to infection control protocols. • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and contribute to the overall patient management plans. • Comply with the established protocols, guidelines, and policies of the UN Health Duties & Responsibilities • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss complex cases and contribute to patient management plans. • Adhere to established protocols, guidelines, and policies of the UN Health Care Center.
