About the Job
Reporting to the Chief Strategy and People Officer, the Head of Internal Communications is a strategic leader responsible for designing, executing and continuously evolving the internal communications strategy. This role partners closely with People, Strategy and cross-functional teams to ensure communications are tightly aligned with the IB’s strategic priorities, fostering a culture of trust, transparency and engagement.
The Head of Internal Communications is a key architect of organizational storytelling, shaping narratives that connect employees to the mission and vision and ensuring that every message drives measurable impact across diverse internal audiences.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Internal Communications Strategy: Shape compelling narratives that connect employees to the IB’s mission and align communications with strategic goals.
Drive Change & Engagement: Partner with senior leaders and People to support organizational change, people initiatives, and campaigns that celebrate employees and amplify success stories.
Stakeholder & Team Leadership: Build strong relationships across all levels and provide strategic direction and line management to a small communications team.
Data-Driven Insights: Use audience segmentation, engagement metrics, and global data to inform planning and continuously improve impact.
Innovate & Optimize: Embed digital innovation into communications, manage budgets effectively, and evolve strategies to meet organizational needs.
About You
Degree (or equivalent level) qualification in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or a related field is essential.
Highly competent in the use of internal communications platforms and analytics tools including Microsoft Office apps (Sharepoint and Teams).
Proven experience in leading an internal or corporate communications function in a global / matrix organization with an understanding of diverse cultural contexts.
Demonstrable leadership skills with previous experience in managing and collaborating with diverse, geographically dispersed teams.
Proven success developing and executing internal communication strategies in a fast-paced, evolving organization.
Strong stakeholder and project management capabilities.
Excellent relationship-building skills across all levels.
Collaborative team leader with proven ability to foster teamwork.
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication, including copywriting.
Confident public speaker with effective presentation skills.
