The Operations Manager is responsible for assisting the Operations Director in ensuring the safe, professional and profitable execution of security services in the Pemba region of Mozambique and directly manage the daily activities of the Operations Room and Security Escort Teams.
Requirements
Operational Management
Manage and oversee all aspects of the Operations Room, including day to day functions and co-ordinated incident response.
Oversee daily operations across multiple sites, leading and supporting teams to ensure high standards and consistent performance are maintained.
Develop and update Standard Operational Procedures (SOPs), with monthly reviews to ensure accuracy and relevance.
Establish and oversee routines, systems and personnel to ensure the efficient and effective management of personnel.
Maintain strong relationships with Mozambique compliance staff to support operations.
Establish and maintain strong, productive relationships with the Project Security Manager to ensure timely and effective client support.
Maintain and manage operational assets to achieve business targets.
Responsible for ensuring all static and mobile assets are QA/QC in line with MATs and the Control Risks’ Mozambique training policy.
Ensure 100% manning across the region by effectively managing the PERSREP and rotation schedules.
Ensure all Control Risks’ operational staff are fully informed of and comply with HSE policies.
Update and manage the operational forecast.
Support and facilitate the movement of personnel to meet business requirements.
Develop contingency plans and procedures to ensure operational effectiveness.
Conduct ongoing risk assessments of operational areas and transit routes to ensure safety and mitigate potential threats.
Conduct rigorous quality assurance and control to ensure the output of deployed personnel meets client expectations.
Identify operational risks and ensure compliance with all Control Risks’ policies.
Update and manage the CMT, MATs, Training and HSE database.
Deliver consultancy tasks as directed by the Operations Director or Project Security Manager
Assist the Operations Director in all operational matters as required.

Business Development
Work with the Operations Director or Project Security Manager to maintain and strengthen client relationships, with a focus on expanding existing contracts while ensuring compliance with industry regulations, Control Risks’ policies and contractual obligations.
Administration and Finance
To assist the HR and Compliance Manager in ensuring appropriate allocation and management of human resources for Security Escort Teams in alignment with Mozambican Labour Law and company policy.
Ensure all requests from clients and potential clients are handled promptly, professionally and effectively.
Ensure time sheets accurately reflect daily manpower and vehicle utilisation.
Collect, collate and submit accurate and timely regional manning requests to HR.

Flexibility to work irregular hours.
Willingness and flexibility to work in other locations in Mozambique as directed by the Operations Director or Project Security Manager
Knowledge & Experience
Essential
Proven experience in a similar role.
Extensive experience in operational risk management, backed by strong references from senior colleagues.
Proven experience in managing high tempo operational environments.
In depth knowledge of Control Risks’ SOPs, TTPs and operational routines.
Extensive experience in physical security and personnel protection.
Experience in training management.
Exceptional ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office IT applications.
Previous experience of working within the Oil & Gas and renewable energy industry.
Preferred
Previous experience of working with ExxonMobil in Mozambique or Iraq.
Security and Risk Management qualifications.
Experience of operating within Mozambique.
Training in recruitment, leadership and performance management.
Experience as a Team Leader within the security industry.
Qualifications and Skills
Essential
Previous experience operating in a hostile environment.
Previous commercial security experience.
Preferred
Broad understanding of health, safety and environmental (HSE) issues.
Ex British Army SNCO or officer.
SIA, PSIRA or equivalent qualification.
Portuguese Speaking
