The United Nations Regional Centre for Peace and Disarmament in Asia and the Pacific (UNRCPD) is a regional arm of the United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs (UNODA) and assists countries in the Asia-Pacific region to achieve their peace, security, and disarmament goals, through provision of substantive support; coordination of activities at the sub-regional, regional and international levels; and information sharing on global and regional developments. Its core focus spans capacity-building and technical assistance, dialogue fora, and outreach and advocacy. Within this mandate, UNRCPD advances inclusive, intersectional approaches to disarmament in support of the UN Secretary-General’s Disarmament Agenda, Our Common Agenda, the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, and UNODA’s Youth4Disarmament Initiative, aligning efforts with UNGA resolutions 74/64 and 76/45 and the Youth, Peace and Security (YPS) agenda to promote meaningful youth engagement across non-proliferation and arms control.
