Job Description:
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
As Senior Investigator, Global Financial Investigation you will work independently, with minimal daily supervision to analyze incoming incident and whistleblower allegations, initiate, plan, lead and conduct investigations of corruption and financial misconduct in WV offices. Write reports documenting investigative plans and findings, and follow-up on specific investigative assignments. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the Senior Manager Financial Investigations to perform a wide range of investigative tasks and as needed, support other investigators with technical expertise.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Financial Investigations
- Analyze, oversee, and conduct a preliminary assessment of misconduct allegations to determine the veracity of possible violations of World Vision (WV) policy or law.
- Initiate, plan, conduct, support, and oversee investigations related to complex fraud, corruption, bribery, kickbacks, extortion, conflict-of-interest, product substitution, embezzlement, theft, ethical misconduct, mismanagement, waste and abuse.
- Prepare and evaluate detailed reports, such as investigative plans, engagement memos, reports of investigation, Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations, and quarterly investigative reports. Provide oral and written briefings to senior leaders and staff.
- Conduct a full range of investigative activities to include, but not limited to, analyzing information in Ethics Point, documents, such as financial records, conducting research, conducting surveillance, using data analytic and computer forensic tools, and conducting witness and subject interviews.
- Coordinate and conduct investigative activities in conjunction with other WV investigators, WV Global Centre (GC), National Offices (NO), Regional Offices (RO), WV legal offices, law enforcement agencies, donors, NGOs, banks, and other entities.
- High-quality, reliable, and insightful investigations into serious allegations of financial misconduct.
- Reduced risk to WV’s reputation, assets, people, and donors through the presence of a highly effective investigative capability.

- Strategic insights into control weaknesses, operational weaknesses, and other issues requiring remediation that will ultimately strengthen WV’s ministry and minimize losses.
Capacity Building & Strategic Initiatives
- Provide investigative training and guidance to staff who conduct investigation”s part time, and other junior investigators regarding detecting and investigating misconduct.
- Develop and support the implementation of investigation manuals, and preventive measures to mitigate fraud risk. Identify fraud trends and recommend appropriate actions to mitigate the risk to WV.
- The incumbent will also be instrumental in rolling out and streamlining Global Compliance, Risk, & Investigations (GCRI) strategic initiatives aimed at improving the effectiveness and efficiency of its financial investigation services.
- Leading investigative and support teams, training and building capacity of the investigator assigned on investigative assignments.
- Work strategically to align investigation goals and processes with WV 2030 goals by collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Effective engagement and collaboration with clients.
- Recommending changes to Global Financial Investigation’s investigative procedures and tools based on knowledge gained by reviewing and analyzing allegations and conducting investigations.

- Persuasive and timely communication of risks and high-profile investigations to WV management.
- Promoting a Christ-centered internal investigative environment.
- WV will have a stronger and more capable workforce of part-time investigators who are able to conduct investigations to a high degree of quality and consistency in all WV offices.
- The Integrated Investigations team will operate with a high degree of innovation, efficiency, collaboration, and ultimately maximize WV’s resources to reduce risk and safeguard resources.
- A high degree of donor confidence in WV’s investigative structures, systems, and capabilities.
- Strong support and partnership with key stakeholders in FOs, Regions, SOs, and at the GC.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Accounting, Criminal Justice, Finance, or a related field.
- Completion of an externally recognized investigation training program and/or certification including CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) or CA (Chartered Accountant)
- CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner) certification is highly preferred.
- 5-7 years of professional experience in investigation, auditing, law, and/or project management in international organizations.
- Excellent investigation, research, analytical, and computer forensics.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills Experience working in a global environment.
- Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills
