Myanmar is one of UNOPS’ leading offices in Asia, acting as fund manager for some of the largest development programmes in the country. In addition, UNOPS is Principal Recipient for the Global Fund in Myanmar and for the Global Fund’s regional artemisinin-resistance initiative targeting drug resistant malaria in the greater Mekong sub-region. UNOPS also provides procurement, infrastructure and project management services to a wide range of organizations in the country, including international development partners, other UN agencies, NGOs and INGOs. UNOPS plays a critical role in ensuring that the quality of services provided to its partners meets stringent requirements of speed, efficiency and cost effectiveness.

About the Project Office

Project Information

LIFT is embarking on a new strategic period for 2024-2028. The LIFT 2024-2028 Strategy builds on the achievements of LIFT”s experience as well as recent adaptations and learning in the face of a changing and dynamic context. The new Strategy outlines an approach to tackle structural drivers of poverty and vulnerability, while also considering immediate interventions to secure and maintain Myanmar”s previous development gains. LIFT has proven itself as a key delivery partner across Myanmar’s changing contexts – ranging from post-Nargis recovery, economic and rural development at a time of transition, and relief support during COVID-19. LIFT is managed by the United Nations Office for Projects Services (UNOPS) and has received funding from 16 international donors. The current donors are the United Kingdom, the European Union, Switzerland, Australia, the United States of America, Canada, New Zealand, Norway, and Denmark.

Job Specific Context

Under the supervision and guidance of the Programme Management Advisor (Nutrition), the Programme Management Officer (Nutrition) will provide support to the implementation of nutrition & food security related activities in alignment with LIFT’s Plan of Action (POA) 2024–2028. The incumbent will assist in coordinating day-to-day programme processes and help follow up on implementation progress. The role contributes to ensuring that activities are carried out in line with agreed plans, established procedures and nutrition-related priorities. It also requires close collaboration across Programme Teams to facilitate the smooth delivery of programme activities

Role Purpose

The Programme Management Officer (Nutrition) will provide support for the implementation of nutrition activities in alignment with LIFT’s Strategy 2024–2028 and Plan of Action (POA).

Functions / Key Results Expected

Support to Programme Implementation and Planning

  • Support the implementation of nutrition & food security-related activities, helping to ensure they follow established project plans, guidance and timelines in close coordination with the supervisor.

  • Contribute to the preparation and review of annual work plans, budgets and reports, by consolidating information and supporting the technical inputs provided by senior colleagues.

  • Help follow up on agreed actions, and contribute to the organisation of field missions, workshops and internal coordination meetings involving partners and stakeholders.

  • Contribute to the integration of nutrition considerations into broader programme planning, ensuring consistency with food security and livelihoods priorities as guided by senior team members.

Coordination and Stakeholder Support

  • Support coordination and information flow within and across Programme Teams, helping ensure effective collaboration in the planning and implementation of nutrition activities.

  • Contribute to stakeholder engagement efforts led by the Programme Management Advisor, by helping gather and organise information, preparing materials, and supporting follow-up actions related to partners and external actors.

  • Contribute to meeting summaries, coordination notes and follow-up actions, helping maintain clarity, continuity and organised communication across teams.

  • Help monitor developments in Rakhine, sharing relevant updates internally with the Programme Management Advisor to support their engagement with local actors.

  • Support communication flows with relevant UNOPS departments, helping ensure information related to programme development and results is channelled internally in a timely and organised manner.

Monitoring, Data, and Reporting

  • Support monitoring and analysis of project performance indicators related to nutrition outcomes.

  • Contribute to the consolidation of reports and data submitted by partners.

  • Prepare brief summaries and progress updates to inform Programme Management Advisor”s reviews and planning discussions.

  • Help identify patterns in the information received, highlighting observations to the Programme Manager that may inform improvements in implementation.

  • Contribute to maintaining an updated overview of the context in Rakhine, helping track relevant developments and supporting inputs for the programme’s risk matrix.

Knowledge Sharing and Capacity Development

  • Participate in the development and dissemination of tools, guidelines, and knowledge products on nutrition & food security programming.

  • Support documentation of lessons learned, success stories, and case studies for internal and external communication.

  • Collaborate with the Knowledge Management team to ensure evidence and innovations are captured and shared.

Education Requirements

Required

  • A Master’s degree in public health, nutrition, food security, social sciences, or another relevant field, with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience is required or a Bachelor’s degree in the above fields, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.

Desired

  • Certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is desired

Experience Requirements

Required:

  • A Minimum of 1 year of experience in programme implementation or coordination within nutrition, food security, or public health.

  • Demonstrated experience in monitoring and reporting on project performance, including analysis of quantitative and qualitative data.

  • Experience in working with implementing partners and other counterparts, or local organizations.

  • Experience in working with implementing partners or local organizations.

  • Ability to synthesize technical information into actionable recommendations.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and data management tools.

  • Experience supporting nutrition-sensitive programming or multi-sectoral approaches (e.g., agriculture, health, or social protection).

  • Familiarity with UN or international NGO frameworks and operational procedures.

  • Experience with capacity-building initiatives or preparation of technical materials and reports.

  • Basic knowledge of GIS, data visualization, or information management systems is an asset.
