The International Trade Centre (ITC) is a joint agency of the United Nations (UN) and World Trade Organization (WTO) based in Geneva, Switzerland. ITC’s mission is to enable small business export success in developing and transition-economy countries, by providing, with partners, sustainable and inclusive development solutions to the private sector, trade support institutions (TSIs) and policymakers. The International Trade Centre implements various projects on trade and gender to create an ecosystem of integrated solutions that empower women economically through greater integration in trade and investment. Since 2018, ITC, with generous support from the Government of the United Kingdom, has been providing governments with data and resources to foster a more inclusive policy environment for women in business and trade. ITC has developed SheTrades Outlook, an innovative policy tool that assists policymakers to assess, monitor, and improve the policy ecosystem for women’s participation in international trade. SheTrades Outlook supports evidence-based policymaking by providing a framework based on a comprehensive set of indicators on trade and gender equality. Based on SheTrades Outlook data results, ITC provides technical assistance to governments in mainstreaming gender into trade-related policies, strategies and legislations. Description of Responsibilities The National Consultant will work for ITC’s Empowering Women to Trade Programme under the direct supervision of the Policy Lead, SheTrades Initiative. The Consultant is expected to perform the following duties: o Participate in a half-day webinar to discuss the survey implementation and methodology. o Analyse the survey questions and adjust it to the national context if needed. o Report regularly, at least once a week, on the progress of the interviews scheduled using a monitoring form. o Map and identify relevant trade and investment support institutions (TISIs) and other national institutions according to ITC questionnaire. o Implement interviews according to ITC questionnaire. Interviews must be implemented by the Consultant (no outsourcing to Third Parties). o Collect all relevant evidence and/or information related to the interviews according to the ITC questionnaire. o Identify and collect information on good practices through interviews with trade and investment support institutions (TISIs) and other national institutions. Draft the good practices according to ITC format. Also, the Consultant is expected to support the ITC team in the field by performing the following duties: o Secure venue/hotel and interpretation services for one-day in-person SheTrades Outlook validation workshop for approximately 50 public and private sector participants. Three quotations each for venue/hotel and interpretation services should be submitted to ITC, per the terms of reference provided by ITC. o Create a list of participants and share final list with ITC, and support in preparing invitation letters. o Secure bilateral meetings with relevant government agencies, at the technical level. o Send invitation letters and follow-up with speakers and stakeholders to ensure their participation. o Collect participants’ attendance list, photos during the event and evaluation information and share with ITC for reporting purposes. o Facilitate breakout group discussions, together with international expert/s from ITC. o Support in coordinating overall logistics for the workshop, including liaising with co-organizer/s, speakers and ITC HQ, etc. o Support in translating documents, including agenda, invitation letters, registration and evaluation forms. Copyright Clause: The consultant has to ensure that she has obtained the necessary permissions with regard to intellectual property rights required to perform her services under this consultancy contract and for the subsequent dissemination by ITC in any form. Documentary proof is to be submitted to ITC. Should any license fee be due for the use of copyrighted materials of third parties, the consultant shall request the prior written permission from ITC.
