Breakdown of main responsibilities
Within the World Economic Forum’s Centre for Energy and Materials (CENMAT), the role of the Emerging Markets Deployment (EMD) Team is to equip emerging and developing economies with insights, dialogues, and partnerships that are tailored to advancing their unique energy, materials and industrial transitions circumstances. Under the leadership of the Emerging Markets Lead, you will support the delivery of CENMAT’s activities in MENA and Africa, as well as the engagement of regional C4IR Centres, contributing to the strengthening of the Forum’s impact in those regions. Your responsibilities include:
- Support the engagement of C4IR Saudi Arabia on activities related to the Securing Minerals for the Energy Transition Initiative.
- Support the engagement of C4IR South Africa on activities related to the Transitioning Industrial Clusters (TIC) initiative, AI & Energy, and Future of Clean Fuels.
- Coordinate Transitioning Industrial Clusters (TIC) activities in MENA and Africa, including through stakeholder mapping, coordination of outreach campaigns positioning TIC among high-level regional stakeholders, new clusters’ onboarding, and engagement of regional clusters in the global network.
- Support the Future of Clean Fuels MENA Deep Dive by mapping partner engagement opportunities, coordinating the community outreach, and providing research and analysis support required for workshop development.
- Coordinate analysis from consultations, as well as various content creation tasks surrounding the production of pre-reads, reports, blogs, and session structures.
- Support partner retention and acquisition activities with the view to target high-quality growth advancing the Forum’s engagement and impact in the Africa and MENA.
- Ensure regional activities are captured in key Forum systems (Salesforce, TopLink, box) as well as the periodic updates of the CENMAT regional engagement plans.

The successful candidate will be assessed on
- Project delivery to standards of excellence and against goals, including impact of the initiative and partner engagement.
- Effective engagement of internal and external stakeholders and positive feedback from them on the quality and impact of the initiative.
- Ability to work effectively with Forum colleagues and with community members, ensuring that they are engaged in the Forum’s work and benefit from timely communication and efficient coordination.
- Self-starter, with ability to coordinate and facilitate Centre activities in a specific priority region or country to deliver impact and partner engagement opportunities.
