CHILD SAFEGUARDING:
Level 3: the post holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the vetting process staff.
ROLE PURPOSE:
Project Assistant (PA) role is to involve in planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of Health Project in collaboration with the field team under the guidance of Project Coordinator.
SCOPE OF ROLE:

Staff reporting to this post: ICMVs
Budget Responsibilities: No financial approval
Role Dimensions: Regular contact with project volunteers and beneficiaries
Travel: Frequent (over 12 days per month)
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY :
Program Management
• Together with Project Coordinator, the Post holder is responsible for activity planning, implementation, and review to ensure the achievements of project outputs are in accordance with project’s objectives, logical framework in Shan area.
• Assist Project Coordinator in planning and preparing work plan and field activities of the project.
• Conduct data collection, checking and verification for volunteer activities, and submit reports to the supervisor as monthly basis.
• Work closely with supervisor to facilitate capacity building trainings and workshops for volunteers, partners, and other variety of stakeholders.
• Conduct regular and effective monitoring visit to assigned project villages and report the findings to supervisor with action plan.
• Responsible for health education sessions, behavior change communication (BCC) and awareness raising activities at the village and work sites level to promote community participation.
• Submit monthly activity reports and narrative reports to the supervisor by using findings during program implementation, inputs and feedback from the community and ICMVs.
• Assist supervisor in budget estimation and cash forecasting for assigned project activities.
• Liaise with authorities, and Non-State Actors regarding the project activities as necessary.
• Assist in procurement of materials, supplies and maintenance of project equipment and repair as necessary.
• Participate in project surveys and need assessments as required.
• Initiate for identification and mapping of Mobile Migrant Ethnic and Vulnerable populations (MMEVs) in regular interval and submit the updated MMEV information to line manager.
• Monitor project activities and outputs to reach desired objectives and results.
• Keep records of activities, and report regularly and as requested on programme progress.
• Actively support the organization’s efforts towards accountability to beneficiaries, in particular through child participation and complaints & response mechanisms.
• Take steps to ensure that the programme benefits the poorest and most disadvantaged community especially MMEVs.
• The candidate must have the flexibility of responsibility according to the project’s need i.e. SCI is working in a constantly changing humanitarian and development aid environment, reasonable specific work duties may be requested that may not fit into the above responsibilities, but which will help promote over all programs goals and aims.
Others
• Organize the various project intervention campaigns such as distribution of LLINs, Active Case Detection and Mass Malaria Screening with participation of CHWs and community.
• The candidate must have the flexibility of responsibility according to the project’s need i.e. SCI is working in a constantly changing humanitarian and development aid environment, reasonable specific work duties may be requested that may not fit into the above responsibilities, but which will help promote over all programs goals and aims.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Any graduates
• Minimum 2 years working experience in health-related programs or/and in public health programs.
• Professional working experience with international organizations preferable.
• Good communication skills and/ or social mobilization skills.
• Willingness to travel and night-stop at field project villages, and work in difficult and challenging working environment with limited support.
• Experience and knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Sensitivity to the cultural & political environment, with the experience of working in conflictaffected areas.
• Experience of working in a team/ willing to work with team.
• Adaptable and practical, diplomatic skills and behaviors.
• Sensitivity to the cultural & political environment, and ability to learn about these.
• Due to the nature of program, local candidates who know the context of project locations are preferable.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Essential
• Well-known local context and well use local language
• Can drive well on motorbikes.
• Willing to travel very remote area.
Communication and Technical Skills
• Good English communication skills, both written and verbal
• Excellent personal organizational skills, including time management, and ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
• Willingness to travel to field offices and work in difficult environment according to travel requirements
