In this role you will act as the technical coordinator for the reinforced bridge that will allow passage of the Endcap Calorimeters structures. You will manage the full lifecycle from concept and detailed design through procurement, manufacturing follow-up and site installation, and you will support the monitoring and execution of heavy lifting activities.

Your responsibilities

  • Produce concept and detailed mechanical/structural designs enabling safe passage of heavy Calorimeters structures, including load cases, interfaces and integration constraints.
  • Prepare procurement packages (specifications, drawings), select suppliers, monitor manufacturing progress, and ensure conformity with specifications and schedules.
  • On-site installation oversight: Supervise installation activities in UXC55, coordinate with CERN teams and external contractors, ensure installation meets drawings, tolerances and safety requirements.
  • Develop a complete 3D scenario of the full HL sequence for the area (assembly, transport, installation), perform clash detection and sequencing to validate operations and interfaces.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation, installation reports and as-built drawings;

Your profile

Experience:

  • Ability to perform load calculations, structural checks and to produce design justifications for reinforced structures.
  • Proficiency with 2D/3D CAD (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA) and experience with finite-element tools for structural validation.
  • Ability to create clear manufacturing drawings and as-built documentation.
  • Demonstrated experience in Mechanical design: CAD drawings (CATIA) and FEA simulation (ANSYS).
  • Experience preparing technical specifications, following supplier manufacturing, and performing quality checks.
  • Familiarity with heavy lifting operations, rigging studies, lifting plans and vendor coordination.
  • Experience coordinating meetings and documenting project progress.
