ABOUT YOU
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Dental Assistant to serve in a clinical support role within our Medical Squadron This part-time position offers 20 fixed hours per week within a dynamic and international working environment. In this position, you will assist the Dental Officer in delivering a full range of dental treatments and perform dental support tasks with a high level of professionalism and accuracy. By joining us, you will be part of a multinational team and contribute to high-quality patient care within the unique environment of the NATO Airbase Geilenkirchen.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES
- Attending dental patients;
- Making appointments;
- Preparing the dental work area;
- Assisting the Dental Officer in the provision of all appropriate dental treatments;
- Briefing patients on dental hygiene;
- Performing minor dental laboratory work;
- Ensuring the serviceability of dental equipment;

- Operating dental / x-ray equipment and performing operator preventive maintenance and quality control of assigned equipment in accordance with relevant regulations;
- Recording dental diagnoses and keeping related accurate health records and files;
- Ensuring accuracy in patient records, appointment management, and treatment preparation;
- Anticipating patient needs, responding promptly to questions, and ensuring a positive patient experience.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Good knowledge of dental support activities acquired through at least 2 years current dental specialist/assistant experience;
- Secondary education and basic vocational training as a dental specialist/assistant OR Secondary education and basic training for specific task related skills, with 2 years’ experience;
- Certified knowledge of radiation protection measures in connection with dental X-ray activities (in accordance with Host Nation standards or willing to complete a special training in the Host Nation standards);
- Adequate knowledge of Automatic Data Processing (ADP) systems;
- The work both oral and written in this post and in this Headquarters as a whole is conducted mainly in English, therefore adequate proficiency is essential;
- For this position, knowledge of the host nation language (German) is also required.
- Experience working in an international/military environment would be an asset.

YOUR TEAM
The Base Support Wing (SW) is responsible for the safe and effective delivery of all Main Operating Base (MOB) support functions including the supervision of those functions covered in HN Support Agreements. The Medical Squadron provides medical emergency and dental care for all on-base military and civilian personnel. The Flight Medical Branch provides flight and dental care as well as occupational health. Supervises the Flight Medical Section and the Treatment Section. The Dental Section provides dental care for E-3A aircrew, air traffic control and civilian personnel.

CONTRACT
Serving civilian members of NATO will be offered a contract in accordance with the NATO Civilian Personnel Regulations. Newly recruited staff will be initially offered a definite duration contract of three years. Thereafter, an indefinite duration contract might be offered.
SALARY
Salary value indicated in this vacancy notice is based on the new Single Salary Spine scale.
