JOB DESCRIPTION

The Foundation

We are the largest nonprofit fighting poverty, disease, and inequity around the world. Founded on a simple premise: that people everywhere, regardless of identity or circumstances, should have the chance to live healthy, productive lives. By building a global and cultural workplace that supports greater diversity, equity, and inclusion — of voices, ideas, and approaches — together with our employees and partners, we can help all people improve their lives from poverty and health to education. As an organization we offer full healthcare premiums coverage, generous paid time off, contribution to your retirement fund, several employee communities, and a commitment to embedding diversity, equity, and inclusion into everything we do.

The Team

We are inspired by the mission, All Lives Have Equal Value, and are compelled by the opportunity to make an impact. Along with our partners, we tackle complex challenges; we continually test new approaches and embrace change where it will facilitate the best outcome. Thus, the Human Resources organization is on a mission to evolve how we work by providing client-focused solutions that when applied consistently bring greater clarity, improve community and support our principles.

This position reports to the Director of People and Business Enablement.

Your Role

Functions as an HR advisor for various HR activities, providing thought partnership and support to managers across a portfolio of divisions and/or regions. Provides a wide spectrum of support to address manager questions and concerns regarding HR activities across the employee lifecycle (e.g., hiring, onboarding, performance management, rewards, mobility, talent development, separations, etc.). Based on a deep understanding of HR’s processes, systems, and tools, the HR Consultant works in close partnership with the appropriate HRBP to address issues and complete ‘on the ground’ solutions in support of building manager capability via consistent, scalable global processes.

Works with other HR and Legal partners, when appropriate, on sophisticated employee relations matters. Helps facilitate difficult conversations between managers and employees; provides support with process and documentation as required.
  • Facilitates and delivers ‘rhythm of business’ practices to support consistent, scalable global processes across divisions, in partnership with appropriate business partners and HRBP/COE partners. May provide feedback to CoE partners on local market practices to support annual process work.
  • Works with directors and their discrete leadership teams (DD’s and below) to support team effectiveness; may work in partnership with BP teams and COEs to support the creation of training and mentoring solutions.
  • Builds management capability to facilitate an open, inclusive environment that supports a high integrity culture and employee relations.
  • Works with leaders/managers/HR business partners on reductions in force (RIF), conducting notification meetings and preparing appropriate documentation.
  • Drives to consistent processes via providing guidance and execution support to managers and COE partners for HR activities such as hiring, compensation, and mobility issues; advances to HRBP or others as required for resolution.

Your Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required, with 5+ years of client facing experience. Master’s degree in Business, HR, or Organizational Psychology preferred.

  • End- to-end, equitable engagement design and project management skills
  • In depth knowledge of HR trends, best practices and regulatory issues
