The InsuResilience Global Partnership was launched at the UN Climate Change Conference COP23 in Bonn in November 2017 and emerged from the G7 InsuResilience Initiative. The aim is to enable countries to react more quickly after a disaster and to better adapt to climate and disaster risks through the use of risk financing and insurance instruments. This will help poor and vulnerable people to strengthen their resilience over time. The partnership brings together the G20 and V20 countries, civil society, international organisations, the private sector and academia. The GIZ is the secretariat of the InsuResilience Global Partnership and supports the multi-stakeholder partnership in outreach, governance and implementation activities.Information on the project and the topic can be found at: http://www.insuresilience.org
Support of communication and public relations strategy and products (annual report, social media, newsletter, website) and set up and support of events (virtual / hybrid), also linked to InsuResilience Annual Forum and to COP28.Set up own social media ideas for communication of the Insuresilience Global Partnership and the Global Shield against Climate Risks.
Support in the processing of one of the thematic focal points of the secretarial work as well as the onboarding of new members and engagement with all members of the Partnership.
Supporting the Secretariat’s core tasks, such as preparing the content and organisation of the regular meetings of the Partnership’s working groups and strategic groups.
Preparation and monitoring of internal meetings and meetings with members and partners.
Currently studying for a Master’s degree or a Bachelor’s degree in the fields of communication, geography, political science, economics, international cooperation/ international studies or other relevant subjects.
Initial experience in topics such as adaptation to climate change, international climate policy, disaster risk management, climate or disaster risk financing / insurance against natural risks is an advantage.
Fluent in German and English. Good knowledge of another foreign language (preferably French or Spanish) is an advantage.
Initial experience in developing or emerging countries (e.g. through internships, semesters abroad, etc.).
Initial experience in organizing events (conferences, webinars etc.)
experience in content creation for websites and social media would be an asset
Good self-organization and working independently.
High ability to work in a team and communication skills.

We pay a monthly stipend of €2.064,- (gross).
