UN Women Georgia Country Office has growing portfolio in Governance and Participation in Political Life (G&PPL) thematic area of work that entails programming to mainstream gender into governance systems by introducing gender to law and policymaking processes, public finance management and public sector human resources management systems at national as well as local levels. The work further aims at enhancement of women’s agency, voice, and participation in political and decision-making processes as voters / constituencies as well as leaders and decision-makers. Reporting to the Deputy Country Representative, the Programme Specialist contributes to the effective management of UN Women programme portfolio in Governance & Participation in Political Life thematic area of work in the Georgia Country Office by providing substantive inputs to programme design, formulation, implementation and evaluation. S/he guides and facilitates the delivery of UN Women programme in G&PPL thematic area by monitoring results achieved during implementation and ensuring appropriate application of systems and procedures and develops enhancements if necessary. She/he works in close collaboration with the programme and operations team, UN Women HQ staff, Government officials, multi and bi-lateral donors and civil society ensuring successful UN Women programme implementation under portfolio. |

Duties and Responsibilities |

1. Design and develop programme strategies in the area of G&PPL
2. Manage the implementation and management of the G&PPL programme portfolio of UN Women Georgia CO
3. Manage technical assistance and capacity development to project/programme partners
4. Manage the monitoring and reporting of the programme/ project
5. Manage the people and financial resources of the G&PPL programme portfolio
6. Build partnerships and support in developing resource mobilization strategies
7. Contribute to inter-agency coordination on G&PPL to achieve coherence and alignment of UN Women programmes with other partners in Georgia
8. Manage advocacy, knowledge building and communication efforts
