This is a Temporary Duty of Assignment open to internal CARE Associates:
CARE Jordan’s programming to date has focused on protection and community engagement with a focus on case management, referrals, psychosocial support services (PSS) and meeting basic needs. CARE Jordan is currently at a juncture of contextualizing the global 2030 vision, and the CARE USA 2025 Strategy to the context of Jordan and in the form of a Country and Program strategy for CARE Jordan. Therefore, we are seeking an experienced Protection and Gender in Emergencies Advisor to support the Country office to strategize and align our Protection and Community Engagement program with the CARE GiE Pillars and advance our efforts to meet the needs of people of all genders, ages, and abilities through the application of gender equality and gender transformative approaches.
Under the supervision of the Country Director, and in close cooperation with the Assistant Country Director, Program Quality and Impact, the Protection and GiE Advisor will focus on advancing the four key pillars under CARE’s GiE work across CARE Jordan’s programs (urban and camp settings), including minimum commitments for technical sectors (such as Gender and Protection mainstreaming), Life free from violence (focusing on response to GBV in emergencies), Women Lead in Emergencies, and supporting the implementation of regular gender analyses.
There are individuals who may use CARE’s name and trademark in emails and on websites in an attempt to solicit fees from interested job-seekers. Some examples of these fees are placement fees or immigration processing fees. CARE does not use recruiting or placement agencies that charge candidates an up-front fee of any kind. Occasionally, CARE does employ recruiting or placement agencies to help us identify candidates for specific employment within CARE. If you’re contacted by a legitimate recruiting or placement agency, there should be no charge to you. If you suspect that you have been a victim of fraud from someone purporting to be CARE, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We provide equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and qualified applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, gender identity, ancestry, sexual orientation, national origin, age, handicap, disability, marital status, or status as a veteran.
