GIZ International Services is shortlisted for the EU-funded tender: „Improving Chapter 27 planning and implementation” in Serbia.
The overall objective to which this action contributes is:
- To assist Serbia in further aligning its environment and climate change policies formulated in Negotiating Positions in view of EU accession.
The impact of the action is:
- Serbia achieved higher level of preparation for EU accession in the field of environmental protection and climate change.
Your tasks
Key Expert 2 will provide support to the Team Leader in the overall implementation of the project. The Legal Expert shall, in the absence of the Team Leader, be in charge of contacts and communication with the Contracting authority and for communication and negotiation with all key experts.
The legal expert will be responsible for identification and prioritisation of legal support activities, identification of needs for specific legal expertise, guidance of legal experts’ activities and quality assurance of legal activities’ results. The KE2 will be working closely with KE1.
Your profile
Qualifications and skills
- University degree (where a university degree has been awarded on completion of minimum four years of study at a university) in law.
General professional experience
- Minimum 10 (ten) years of postgraduate experience with harmonisation of legislation with the Union acquis.
Specific professional experience
- Minimum 10 (ten) years of experience with development of environmental legislation in an EU Member State or candidate country. Knowledge of legal system of Republic of Serbia and its institutional framework will be considered as an advantage.
- Experience in legal work related to transposition and alignment of EU environmental legislation (Chapter 27 of the Acquis) in a minimum of three EU-funded projects.
Location information
The project office will be located in Belgrade from where most project activities will be undertaken. Visits to local administration, installations and other will, however, require travel throughout Serbia.
Start date & period of implementation
The intended start date is the third quarter of 2023 and the period of implementation of the contract will be 30 months from this date (minimum 560 working days).
