JOB DESCRIPTION

The European Investment Fund (EIF) is seeking to recruit for its General Secretariat Department (GS) – Marketing Division (MRKTG) at its headquarters in Luxembourg*, a (Senior) Marketing Campaign Officer. This is a full-time temporary position with limited travel requirements at grade 4/5 for which the EIF offers a fixed-term contract. As this is a temporary replacement assignment, no extension or conversion of the contract is foreseen.

Panel interviews via video-conference are anticipated for April 2023

Purpose:

The Marketing Department ensures the EIF’s activities are known and valued by stakeholders and the general public.

This role is responsible for designing and executing effective marketing campaigns across a wide range of topics and audiences related to financial instruments and SME financing topics primarily for the EIF’s different policy areas: Innovation, Competitiveness & Growth, Human Capital & Skills, Sustainability & Green Transformation.

Duties centre on designing and delivering campaigns that are impactful and succeed in drawing attention to the EIF’s activity in a given area. Tasks include clearly defining campaign briefs, creating relevant and relatable content (visual identities, brochures, presentations, event packages, motion videos) for physical and/or digital and social media delivery. In doing so the role directs external agencies as appropriate and oversees a budget.

Proven experience in designing and delivering impactful awareness raising campaigns and events along with a high competency in project management and stakeholder engagement are an advantage.

Operating Network:

You will report to the Head of Marketing and take direction from senior members of the Campaigns Unit. The Campaigns Unit collaborates closely with other competence centres within the Marketing Division, namely: editorial, social media & digital and graphic design. You will also cooperate with and direct external service providers where necessary.

You will collaborate with multiple points of contact across the organisation including investment teams, mandate managers, and relationship managers, as well as interact with the EIB Group Communication Division for Group initiatives and campaigns.

Responsibilities:

At a level commensurate with your experience, you will support the EIF’s marketing and communication efforts by:

  • Designing campaigns to promote EIF’s activities, facilitating new visual identities where needed and refreshing and updating existing campaigns;
  • Preparing and updating campaign content: including pitches & presentations, strapline development, copywriting, digital and print collateral, event packages;
  • Planning and project management of campaigns and events as needed;
  • Conducting relevant market research and internal research;
  • Procuring and directing external service providers such as creative & design agencies, video production agencies, photographers and event management agencies;
  • Preparing and administrating the marketing budget and monitoring expenses throughout the year;
  • Overseeing and managing relevant event sponsorships.

Qualifications:

  • University degree in Marketing, Business Administration or any other relevant field;
  • At least three (3) years of post-graduation (after having obtained your initial university diploma) relevant professional experience at the same level of responsibility as a marketing officer or in a similar role, ideally in financial services;
  • Solid knowledge of marketing techniques and principles, including research, audience mapping, planning, branding, copywriting, KPIs, budget management;
  • Prior experience in creating digital & print content as well as in event management;
  • Knowledge of PowerPoint and standard IT tools. Knowledge of design software & tools (Adobe Creative Suite) would also be an advantage;
  • Excellent written and spoken English; knowledge of other European languages is an advantage.
