UNOPS hosts the Stop Tuberculosis Partnership Secretariat (STBP) in Geneva, Switzerland. The vision of the Stop TB Partnership is to realize the goal of elimination of Tuberculosis (TB) as a public health problem and, ultimately, to obtain a world free of TB by ensuring that every TB patient has access to effective diagnosis, treatment and cure; stopping transmission of TB; reducing the inequitable social and economic toll of TB; and developing and implementing new preventive, diagnostic and therapeutic tools and strategies. The Stop Partnership is uniquely positioned to support the development and further implementation by partners of the current and future Global Plan, acting as a coordinator and catalyst for the range of partners engaged in the fight against TB.
Founded in 2001, the Stop TB Partnership’s mission is to serve every person who is vulnerable to TB and ensure that high-quality treatment is available to all who need it. Stop TB partners include international and technical organizations, government programmes, research and funding agencies, foundations, NGOs, civil society and community groups and the private sector. We recently published the Global Plan to End 2023 -2030 which provides a blueprint of priority actions required and a detailed estimate of financial resources needed to end TB.
The Partnerships and Technical Coordination Specialist position will be administered by STBP but will mostly work with the Global Fund managed TB Situation Room. It is a critical position to support partners and the Global Fund maximize the impact of Investment in TB. The incumbent will ensure there is coordination among partners specifically World Health Organization (WHO), USAID, The Stop TB Partnerships, Gates Foundation, and the Global Fund. The incumbent will coordinate day to day operations of the TB Situation Room ensuring there is an agenda for the meeting and follow-up of actions agreed by partners. The incumbent will also work with partners through the Coordination Team (CORT) to ensure the technical assistance is linked to the grants by regular communication with Country Teams and other Secretariat Teams and bring the TA requests to the partners through CORT.
The Partnerships and Technical Coordination Specialist, reports to the Stop TB Technical Advisor (Global Fund) and to the Head of TB at the Global Fund and works in coordination with Chairs of TB Situation Room and focal points from TB Situation Room partners.
Perform the following duties under the prioritization, supervision and direction of the Stop TB Technical Advisor (Global Fund), and in liaison with Head of TB, Global Fund and oversight of TB Situation Room Chairs;
