WFP’S MANDATE AND INTERVENTIONS IN MADAGASCAR
In Madagascar, WFP is supporting the government’s efforts through an assistance strategy to respond to the humanitarian emergency, strengthen community resilience and support sustainable development efforts. In collaboration with government agencies, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and UN system partners, WFP, organizes cash or in-kind transfers to meet the food needs of families affected by climatic hazards, provides school meals that promote access to education for girls and boys, supports the prevention and treatment of malnutrition, and provides technical and financial support to groups of small agricultural producers to improve their production and access to the market.
WFP also provides the air transport service, ensuring safe, reliable and cost-effective transport for humanitarian and development actors to other parts of Madagascar.
ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT: | These jobs are located in headquarters (HQ), Regional Bureaux (RBx) or Country Offices (COs).
In HQ, job holders are part of the Risk Management Division. In RBx, the job holders are part of a team and will report to the Regional Risk Officer or Regional Risk focal point. In COs with lower risk profile, the job holders may operate individually, be part of a risk team and report to the Country Director or the Deputy Country Director with functional supervision from the Regional Risk and Accountability Advisor where present, or the Deputy Director of the Risk Management Division. In COs with higher risk environments, job holders operate as part of a team and report to Senior Risk Officer or focal Point. |
JOB PURPOSE: | Provide support in the establishment of risk management activities; contribute to the application of controls and compliance with policies and procedures and to the overall effectiveness of operations and optimization of WFP resources. |

STANDARD MINIMUM ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Experience: |
Advanced University degree in business/public administration, finance, accounting, international development, audit or other relevant field, or First University degree with 5 years of relevant work experience and/or training/courses in audit, performance and risk management or other related fields.
At least 3 years of work experience in the area in programme/project management, risk management activities. |
Language: | National Professional: Fluency (level C) in English and French |
