Programme for Emerging Infection under Infectious Diseases Division is conducting a study on producing data to determine the causes of death of children more accurately. The findings will be shared with families, communities, healthcare providers and local and national public health institutes to develop policies and actions.

Key Responsibilities:

The Senior Field Research Officer report to Field Research Manager will be mainly responsible for the following duties and responsibilities:

• Supervise the data collection process, conduct training sessions and arrange meetings for the field team;
• Prepare monthly reports of different field activities;
• Check data inconsistencies of study variables and share with data collection team as well as take the initiative to resolve accordingly;
• Assist in staff recruitment process;
• Maintain communication with the data management team and solve field problems;
• Prepare require project logistics and equipment;
• Assist in analyzing data and writing scientific manuscripts or abstracts;
• Perform other duties assign by the supervisor to ensure smooth implementation and data quality.

Required qualifications and experience:

• Masters in any discipline, preferably in Social Science;
• At least 5 years of experience in implementation of research;
• Experience in statistical programming languages, such as STATA, SPSS and MS Office are preferred.

Contract type and duration:

• Fixed Term Agreement; duration will be 1 year with a possibility of extension subject to availability of fund and performance.

Salary & benefits:

• Annual Tk.9,09,360/-inclusive of house rent, conveyance allowance, and other admissible benefits;
• 8% provident fund contribution, income tax paid by icddr,b, children allowance @Tk.1,917/- per child per month, festival bonus, contributory healthcare support including dependent spouse and children, group life insurance, and subsidized canteen. Transport and daycare facilities are subject to space availability.
