JOB DETAIL

The purpose of the Finance Assistant position is to assist in the day-to-day implementation of support functions.

General responsibilities:

  1. Works by NRC policies, tools, manuals, and guidelines.
  2. Assists in the implementation of support functions by the action plan.
  3. Ensures correct archiving of documents to Office 365 and filing tree.
  4. Encourages and makes proposals for the improvement of support functions.
  5. Manages the cash and bank balances and reconciles the same with the books.
  6. Prepares bank transactions and cash transactions.
  7. Prepares reports such as bank and cash count reconciliations.
  8. Prepares other tasks assigned by your line manager.

Specific responsibilities 

  • Ensure, in coordination with the relevant project staff, that project/program expenditures are incurred consistent with donor agreements and budgets, before processing any payments.
  • Process payment related to Sudan projects and ensure it is following the donor agreement.
  • Follow up on cash advances and proof of payments tracking (finger prints / receipts) and ensure time clearance with staff / implementing partners concerned.
  • Ensure that the petty cash and bank limit are in line with the Financial handbook/SOP.
  • Ensure that the supporting documentation is complete and saved on the office 365 and filling tree.

Generic professional competencies: 

•              Experience from working as a Support Function in a humanitarian/recovery context

•              Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts

•              Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities

•              Good knowledge of English and Arabic .

•              Bachelor Degree in accountancy or business administration is an asset
