The ultimate service is to ensure a successful WUF12 event by defining objectives, identifying stakeholders, creating a timeline, distributing personalized invitations, and sending appreciation letters. It will also involve developing communication materials, providing logistical support, and continuously monitoring progress and outcomes.

Duties and Responsibilities
The United Nations Human Settlements Programme, UN-Habitat, is the United Nations agency for Human Settlements. It is mandated by the UN General Assembly to promote socially and environmentally sustainable towns and cities with the goal of providing adequate shelter for all. As the United Nations focal point on human settlements, UN-Habitat will lead advocacy efforts to raise awareness of sustainable urbanization issues; provide evidence-based policy advice; build capacities. develop tools, norms and standards based on best practices, work on demonstration projects and provide assistance to national Governments, local authorities and other public institutions responsible for urban issues. The World Urban Forum (WUF) is the premier global conference on urbanization convened by UN-Habitat. The twelfth session of WUF (WUF12) will bring together a wide range of stakeholders including governments, international organizations, private sector entities, academia, and civil society to discuss sustainable urban development. The consultant will play a pivotal role in supporting UN-Habitat in partner mobilization, event coordination, and participant confirmation to ensure the successful execution of WUF12. Within delegated authority of Lucia Kiwala (Ms) Head, Partnerships Unit and Dennis Mwamati, Administrative Officer WUF Secretariat, the Partner Mobilization Specialist will be responsible for the below responsibilities. The consultant will be responsible for: • Partner Mobilization: 1.Identify and engage potential partners, including governments, private sector, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), academia, and other stakeholders. 2.Facilitate partnerships that align with the goals and thematic areas of WUF12. 3.Develop communication strategies and materials to attract key partners. 4.Assist in organizing partner outreach events and briefings. • Event Allocation and Coordination: 1.Support the allocation of event spaces and slots to partners, ensuring a balanced and diverse representation of topics. 2.Liaise with event organizers to ensure alignment with the WUF12 agenda and objectives. 3.Oversee the coordination of logistics for assigned events, including venue setup, technology needs, and speaker arrangements. • Participant Confirmation: 1.Manage the participant registration process, ensuring that all stakeholders are confirmed and properly briefed. 2.Maintain and update participant databases and contact lists. 3.Assist in sending invitations, managing RSVPs, and follow-up communications. 4.Coordinate with the UN-Habitat team to facilitate visa support, accommodation, and travel arrangements where needed.
Qualifications/special skills
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in international relations, urban development, event management, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree is an added advantage. At least 2 years of experience in partner mobilization, event coordination, or project management in an international setting is required. Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, particularly with high-level partners and international organizations is desirable Proven ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously is desirable
Languages
For this post fluency in both written and spoken English is required. Although not a requirement knowledge of any other UN Language is an added advantage.
