The Digital Workspace is one of the primary services provided by the ICT Division and is undergoing a major transformation as part of an ongoing cloud transition. This evolution has already enhanced flexibility, scalability, security, and innovation, with future developments focusing on the integration of mobile devices, AI-driven efficiencies, and the deployment of advanced cloud services to further enhance the user experience and operational capabilities.
The ICT Digital Workspace and Datacenter Lead will oversee a small, highly skilled team, driving these advancements while actively participating in the design, procurement, implementation, and maintenance of solutions. Reporting to the Head of ICT and collaborating closely with IT and business units leveraging and supporting the digital workspace, the successful candidate will manage and evolve EUMETSAT’s digital workspace and the supporting infrastructure to meet the organization’s current and future needs.
This role requires a blend of strong technical expertise and leadership skills, as the candidate will be both a leader and a hands-on contributor, shaping the digital workspace.
In this role, the successful candidate will have the following key responsibilities:
A university degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. computer science) or a secondary education with several years of relevant experience.
The official languages of EUMETSAT are English and French. Candidates must be able to work effectively in English and have some knowledge of French.

The initial contract will be of 4 years’ duration, with subsequent 5 year contracts being awarded thereafter, subject to individual performance and organisation requirements. There is no limit to the amount of follow-up contracts a staff member can receive up to the EUMETSAT retirement age of 63 and there are certainly opportunities to establish a long career perspective at EUMETSAT.
This post is graded A3/A4 on the EUMETSAT salary scales. The minimum basic salary for this post is EURO 8819 per month (net of internal tax but excluding pension contribution and insurances) which may be negotiable on the basis of skills and experience. The salary scale provides for increments on the anniversary of taking up employment, and scales are reviewed by the EUMETSAT Council with effect from 1 January each year.
