POSITION SUMMARY

The Technical Proposal Writer Senior Associate will play a critical role in expanding GGGI’s donor base and advancing its strategic objectives by developing high-quality, competitive funding proposals aligned with donor priorities and organizational goals. Responsibilities include coordinating stakeholder inputs, crafting theories of change, logframes, and budgets, and ensuring timely and compliant proposal submissions. Success in this role requires exceptional writing, organizational skills, and a track record of engaging diverse donors in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.

The position reports to the Regional Partnership Lead and works closely with country teams and technical leads across the Latin America and Caribbean region.

PURPOSE
  • Support proposal development process, from concept origination to submission, incorporating robust problem trees, theories of change, and logframes.
  • Support the creation and execution of engagement strategies for GGGI’s donor portfolio.
  • Develop and deliver training materials and tools to strengthen organizational capacity for proposal development.
  • Coordinate and consolidate stakeholder contributions to produce strong, donor-aligned proposals.
  • Assist the Regional Partnership Lead in reviewing and approving concept notes and funding proposals.
ENGAGEMENT
  • Edit, proofread, and format content provided by other contributors into high quality funding proposals, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and adherence to donor guidelines.
  • Support relationship-building efforts with donors by promoting awareness of GGGI’s work, identifying resource mobilization opportunities, and addressing proposal-related risks.
  • Collaborate with LAC country teams and technical leads to gather and synthesize inputs into cohesive proposals.
  • Facilitate donor engagement to address inquiries or feedback on submitted proposals.
DELIVERY
  • Write and refine high-quality proposals, including sections on theory of change, logframe, management, staffing and budgets.
  • Gather and synthesize information from internal and external sources into comprehensive, donor-ready documents.
  • Ensure proposals meet deadlines through effective planning, tracking, and communication with contributors.
  • Maintain consistency and quality across proposals by using standardized templates and language.
  • Ensure final submissions align with donor requirements and reflect GGGI’s strategic priorities.
  • Support implementation of business processes for resource mobilization, providing advisory support to country offices.
REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master’s degree in international relations, public policy, sustainable development, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, with at least 4 years in technical proposal writing for diverse donors.
  • Proven track record of securing funding from institutional, bilateral, and multilateral donors.
  • High proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish (written and spoken).
  • Mexican nationality or valid work permit.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills.
  • Experience working in a high-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills that demonstrate a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

WORKING CONDITIONS

The Technical Proposal Writer Senior Associate is an X7 grade level in GGGI’s Mexico national salary scale. The salary range for the position starts at USD 32,096 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. GGGI provides 15% of base salary towards retirement plan/long-term savings, 27 days of annual leave, and private health insurance that covers dental and vision.
