THE OPPORTUNITY

 

Plan International Pilipinas Foundation Inc. will implement a five-year project entitled: A Gender-Responsive Systems Approach to Universal Health Care (GRASP-UHC) in the Philippines.

 

This intervention aims to improve the health outcomes of vulnerable populations, by enhancing the capacity of local government units (LGUs) to provide affordable and equitable access to healthcare goods and services through effective Universal Health Care (UHC). The project will be implemented in collaboration with Plan International, The Zuellig Family Foundation (ZFF), the Unité de santé internationale de l’Université de Montréal (USI-UdeM), and local civil society organizations.

 

In line with this project, we invite competent, experienced, and committed professionals to fill the following position.

 

The Finance and Accounting Officer will provide financial and operational support in budget monitoring, cash disbursement, and financial reports and records to ensure smooth implementation of projects and programs in the area of coverage, including validating and consolidating reports from ZFF The Zuellig Family Foundation, the project’s local implementing partner.

 

Further, as the Finance and Accounting Officer:

 

  • You will assist the project manager in monitoring the project’s budget spending vis-à-vis the spending plan.
  • You will prepare weekly fund requests based on approved Payment Requests.
  • You will prepare and submit monthly and quarterly project financial reports.
  • You will check, review, and ensure financial compliance based on the donor/Plan’s accounting procedures of all financial transactions, and financial reports/records of the project.
  • You will furnish all required financial documents during audit season or as necessary.
  • Plan International Pilipinas Foundation Inc. is a development and humanitarian organization. In exceptional cases, you will be asked to support emergency response activities.

 

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

 

To be successful in the role you will need among other things:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Financial Management, or related courses.
  • At least three (3) years of solid exposure in the areas of accounting or financial management.
  • Has sound analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Able to influence others’ behavior through effective relationship building.
  • Good computer applications knowledge.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse and dynamic team.
  • Able to communicate technical concepts clearly to a non-technical audience.
  • Applicants must be based in the Philippines and a Filipino national.
