The EIB, the European Union’s bank, is seeking to recruit for its newly created Centre of Excellence, a (Senior) Cloud Solution Architect (Azure) – based in Poland*. This position will be part of Group Corporate Services Directorate – Group Digital Office (GCS-GDO) – Platforms and Services Department (P&S) – Cloud Enablement Unit (CET) located in the EIB External Office in Warsaw, Poland.

This is a full-time temporary position at grade 5/6 in Warsaw, Poland. The term of the contract will be 4 years.

Your mission? To play a key role in developing the foundations of our cloud platforms, focusing on Azure. Your expertise will be key in designing and automating cloud infrastructures ensuring they’re scalable, secure, and aligned with the EIB Group objectives.

Operating Network

You will report directly to the Head of Cloud Enablement Team. You will work in close collaboration with various IT teams and internal stakeholders. As you will be based in Warsaw some business travel to the EIB Headquarters in Luxembourg is foreseen.

Accountabilities

• Design and implement cloud solutions with a focus on Azure, while also leveraging AWS for a multi-cloud approach
• Develop landing zones and blueprints in collaboration with technical teams to support scalable and well-architected cloud environments
• Lead the design and automation of cloud infrastructure, ensuring it meets our digital transformation objectives
• Support teams leading technology roadmap, by providing technology advice and, where applicable, assisting in the implementation of cloud components
• Collaborate with Cloud Governance and program leads to establish guidelines, roles, and responsibilities across projects
• Engage in continuous learning to deepen expertise in Azure and cloud technologies, including security, network architecture, storage, containerization, identity and access management, amongst other
• Translate technical solutions into business value, making cloud technologies accessible to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Collaborate closely with other teams’ part of the CCoE in view of delivering the expected cloud transformation roadmap, especially in relation to items dependent or relying on cloud platform foundation capabilities (Azure)

Qualifications

• University degree (minimum an equivalent to a Bachelor) preferably in computer science or related disciplines
• At least 5 years of experience in cloud development and/or operations with the focus on architecting, building, maintaining, and securing cloud technologies
• Proven experience of delivering underlying cloud platforms as product, (Azure) ideally within transformation programs, including rollout of new technologies.
• Experience working with public, hybrid and on-premises private clouds would be an advantage
• Extensive technological expertise in IT, in particular within Azure cloud domain (Public/Private services; Operations & Administration, Architecture, Security control services, Containerisation, hybrid cloud)
• Up-to-date knowledge of market trends and developments in the domain and broader IT sector
• Excellent knowledge of English and/or French (*), with a good command of the other. Knowledge of other EU languages would be an advantage.

(*) Unless stated explicitly as a required qualification, a good command of French is not a pre-requisite for hire. As both English and French are however official working languages of the EIB, proficiency in both languages is a pre-requisite for your future career development. Any language clause in your contract must be fulfilled in order for you to be eligible for a promotion (either via the annual appraisal cycle or via an internal selection process). Proficiency is understood to mean the attainment of level 5 of the Inter Institutional language courses, corresponding to B1.2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFRL).
