Senior Officer ? Talent Acquisition

ICRISAT seeks applications for the position of Senior Officer ?  Talent Acquisition. This position will be responsible for thorough execution of ICRISAT?s recruiting process for assigned searches, and requires an eye for detail, a passion for finding top talent, and an ability to multi-task in a fast paced multi cultural environment. The incumbent will report to the Manager ? Human Resources. This position will be based at ICRISAT?s Headquarters in Patancheru, Hyderabad, India.

ICRISAT is a non-profit, non-political organization that conducts agricultural research for development in Asia, Africa and beyond with a wide array of partners worldwide. ICRISAT and its partners help empower those living in the semi-arid tropics, especially smallholder farmers, to overcome poverty, hunger, malnutrition and a degraded environment through more efficient and profitable agriculture.

ICRISAT is headquartered in Patancheru near Hyderabad, India, with two regional hubs and eight country offices in sub-Saharan Africa. ICRISAT envisions a prosperous, food-secure and resilient dryland tropics. Its mission is to reduce poverty, hunger, malnutrition and environmental degradation in semi-arid areas. ICRISAT conducts research on its mandate crops of chickpea, pigeonpea, groundnut, sorghum, pearl millet and finger millet in the arid and semi-arid tropics, with a agricultural systems approach. The Institute focuses its work on the drylands and in protecting the environment. Tropical dryland areas are usually seen as resource-poor and perennially beset by shocks such as drought, thereby trapping dryland communities in poverty and hunger and making them dependent on external aid. Responsibilities:

  • Anchor a robust & seamless recruitment process. This includes finalizing job descriptions in consultation with hiring managers, advising appropriate levels based on the competencies required for the role
  • Evaluate various sourcing channels and implement appropriate best practices
  • Recommend system and process improvements to ensure streamlined, cost effective and high quality hiring practices
  • Develop and execute social media communication strategy for different job profiles and functions in the organization
  • Report and Monitor the recruitment process through effective information systems and dashboards
  • Proactively develop and maintain a strong data base of discipline wise potential candidates
  • Build a strong network of consultants / media partners who will help in identifying the talent pool as per institute?s requirement

Skills:

  • Well versed with talent profiling techniques for hiring
  • Good communications and presentation skills
  • Strong knowledge of recruitment tools
  • Competency based interviewing Skills
  • Proven skills and knowledge in hiring through various social media and online forums
  • Should be a good team player and adaptable to working in multicultural team

Requirements:

  • MBA or PG Degree in Human Resource Management with minimum of 7 years of relevant experience
  • Proven experience as a Recruitment Specialist, Recruiter or similar role
  • Experience in recruiting for positions in developing countries and/or in the INGO or similar industry will be preferred

General:

This position is on contract initially for a period of three years (36 months) renewable based on the performance of the incumbent and the institute’s continuing need for the position.
