An exciting opportunity to head up Health Safety & Security Manager role for a leading international NGO working in Pemba, Mozambique.

 

What we are looking for

The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is seeking a highly qualified, resilient and dynamic Health Safety & Security Manager Mozambique Pemba.

More About the Role

We are seeking a Health Safety and Security (HSS) Manager to take overall responsibility for the NRC Mozambique HSS systems in accordance with NRC standards and to support NRC Mozambique operations.

What you will do

  • Oversees and supports national HSS risk management to staff, assets, operation, and reputation of NRC.
  • Promotes and stimulates a global HSS risk management culture within NRC Mozambique, with a specific focus on field teams.
  • Provides the country management group (CMG) with strategic advice based on context evolution and proactively engages the Program Department with timely and tailored advice to support program adaptation whenever needed.
  • Coordinates the development and the implementation of an area-specific community-based approach with the aim to strengthen NRC safe and sustainable access in all its areas of operation.
  • Defines and coordinates the implementation of an Access & Security training plan throughout NRC Mozambique, with a specific focus on equipping field teams with necessary tools and capacities.

  What you will bring

  • Minimum 3 years of experience from working as a senior HSS Manager in an international humanitarian/recovery context
  • Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
  • Substantial and demonstrated prior experience as a trainer
  • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
  • Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Fluency in English and Portuguese both written and verbal

 What we offer

Duty station: Pemba, Mozambique

Contract: 2 years

Travel: 5% -10%

Salary/benefits: Grade 9 on NRC’s International salary scale or National salary scale for nationals of Mozambique.
