The consultant will work under the supervision of a staff member in the Procurement Unit.
Under the direct supervision of Head, Procurement Unit, the International UN Volunteer will:
ï‚· To prepare contracts for signature after coordination with Legal, Procurement and/or technical unit.
ï‚· Provide administration support during the preparation of the procurement requisitions and ensure compliance with WHO Procurement rules and regulation.
ï‚· Effectively coordinate with the requesting units to collect information for timely submission of procurement requests.
ï‚· Process requests for goods and services procurement using UNICC internal procurement system.
ï‚· Coordinate with vendors to support the Procurement Team in obtaining quotes / proposals.
ï‚· Assist Procurement Team in preparation and publishing of tenders.
ï‚· Create supplier accounts and process procurement requisitions in the ERP system.
ï‚· Maintain an up-to-date list of suppliers and contractors.
ï‚· Organize and file procurement documents in the respective SharePoint folders.
ï‚· Perform other duties as required.
Furthermore, UN Volunteers are encouraged to integrate the UN Volunteers programme mandate within their assignment and promote voluntary action through engagement with communities in the course of their work. As such, UN Volunteers should dedicate a part of their working time to some of the following suggested activities:
ï‚· Strengthen their knowledge and understanding of the concept of volunteerism by reading relevant UNV and external publications and take active part in UNV activities (for instance in events that mark International Volunteer Day);
ï‚· Be acquainted with and build on traditional and/or local forms of volunteerism in the host country;
ï‚· Provide annual and end of assignment self- reports on UN Volunteer actions, results and opportunities.
ï‚· Contribute articles/write-ups on field experiences and submit them for UNV publications/websites, newsletters, press releases, etc.;
ï‚· Assist with the UNV Buddy Programme for newly-arrived UN Volunteers;
ï‚· Promote or advise local groups in the use of online volunteering, or encourage relevant local individuals and organizations to use the UNV Online Volunteering service whenever technically possible.
