JOB SUMMARY

 

Job Summary:

Plan, organize, and lead Operations area projects to further improve efficiency of operational processes across a diversity of funders. Simultaneously manage multiple projects of high complexity requiring engagement with multiple teams, departments, and across geographic time zones. Identifies resource needs and coordinates efforts of multi-stakeholder teams to deliver projects according to agreed to plan. Manages and defines project objectives, adjusts project plans as needed, and manages stakeholder buy-in and engagement throughout the lifecycle of assigned projects. Creates work plans based on goals and targets and implements interventions across multiple functional areas. Collaborates with multiple functional areas across the organization to ensure representation and buy-in from all stakeholders. Develop and manage process improvement and efficiency initiatives to support effective and impactful project delivery across a diversity of funders.

Accountabilities:

  • Plans, executes, and finalizes projects to identify and strengthen project and operational agility across a diversity of funders. Acquires resources and coordinates the efforts and inputs of team members and clients to deliver projects according to plan.
  • Develops standards and tools that promote efficient, high quality project management and operational performance.
  • Contributes to the development of a toolkit of operational performance standards, procedures, and training modules for work across a diversity of funders.
  • Contributes to the maintenance and expansion of an organization-wide system that provides guidance, and improves efficiency and agility of key operational processes at FHI 360.
  • Collaborates with teams to identify and develop procedures and work instructions for efficiently working across a diversity of funder.
  • Develop processes and procedures for engagement and management of subawards across a diversity of funder.
  • Develops and provides trainings and learning support to project teams to improve project management and operational efficiency across a diversity of funders.
  • Contributes to organizational process improvement efforts and corporate initiatives.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures with project management, process development and execution.
  • Strong knowledge of project management software and other technologies.

  • Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies to select methods and techniques to obtain results.

Supervision Given / Received:

  • Manages staff and external project members to achieve goals and vision of project from initiation to completion.
  • Coordinates project plans, budgets, training and resources with management to achieve strategic goals.
  • Rreports to Associate Director, Project Management Quality and Support

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or its International Equivalent • Knowledge/Information Services, Communications, Education, Environment, Health, Behavioral, Life/Social Sciences International Development, Human Development or Related Field.
  • Master’s degree or its international equivalent preferred.
  • ​Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or equivalent preferred.

Experience:

  • Typically requires 8+ years of project management experience.
  • Articulate, professional and able to communicate in a clear, positive manner with clients and staff.
  • Experience in multi-sector management and implementation.
  • Experience in monitoring and evaluation as well as strategic planning, process improvement and team management.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak fluent English;
  • Experience working with International Development or Humanitarian organization required.
  • Experience with operationalizing processes, systems, and standards across a diversity funders preferred.

Typical Physical Demands:

  • Typical office environment.
  • Ability to spend long hours looking at computer screen and doing repetitive work on a keyboard.
  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift/move up to 5 lbs.

Technology to be Used:

  • Laptop, Microsoft applications (i.e., Office 365, SharePoint, Skype/Zoom/Teams), cell phone/mobile technology, and standard office equipment.

Travel Requirements:

  • * Less than 10%

The expected US Based hiring salary range for this role is listed below. Candidate FHI 360 pay ranges represent national averages that vary by geographic location. When determining an offer amount, FHI 360 factors in multiple considerations, including but not limited to: relevant years of experience and education possessed by the applicant, internal equity, business sector, and budget.

 

Base salary is only one component of our offer. FHI 360 contributes 12% of monthly base pay to a money purchase pension plan account. Additionally, all US based staff working full-time, which is calculated at 40 hours/week, receive 18 days of paid vacation per year, 12 sick days per year, and 11 holidays per year. Paid time off is reduced pro rata for employees working less than a full-time schedule.

US Based Hiring Salary Range: $110,000 – $135,000
