The Meeting Targets and Maintaining Epidemic Control (EpiC) project is a global project focused on HIV, global health security, and combatting trafficking in persons using funding from the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief and the United States Agency for International Development. EpiC is seeking a qualified and motivated Vietnamese candidate to serve in the role of Project Manager, HIV Prevention based in Ho Chi Minh City and focused on the following tasks:

Main responsibilities:

  • Supervise a team of up to four individuals implementing HIV prevention, testing, and HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) programming.
  • Oversee organizational capacity building for 20+ community-based partners working on HIV prevention and testing. Coach small organizations to mature as businesses and HIV service providers.
  • Understand, resource, and deploy innovations in HIV prevention and testing programming including through the leadership of technical experts.
  • Ensure continuous quality improvement is applied at all levels of the health system.
  • Identify needs and source consultants or staff to fill gaps.
  • Review program data and make appropriate programmatic pivots to meet targets and fill service gaps.
  • Develop manuscripts, presentations, and other knowledge products promoting successes, lessons learned, and knowledge gained to advance the global HIV response.
  • Lead reporting and respond to ad hoc requests related to HIV prevention.
  • Define strategy for improving HIV prevention and document in work plans and subcontracts.
  • Collaborate with sustainability-focused staff to ensure the financial sustainability of community-based HIV prevention interventions.
  • Represent the organization at national and international events.
  • Facilitate collaboration and a supportive environment with implementing partners and other project staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in administration, accounting, public health, social work, social sciences or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • At least 10 years’ experience in management of international development projects in Vietnam, preferably in capacity strengthening, HIV outreach, testing, counseling, or clinical care.
  • Familiarity and comfort working with program data and using it to inform project pivots.
  • Exceptional skills with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with USAID and/or the Ministry of Health preferred.
  • Well-developed written and oral communication skills in both Vietnamese and English.
  • Ability to travel as necessary.
