The Opportunity

The role of the post holder is to lead, guide and strategize the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of all PIE initiated livelihood interventions in emergency/humanitarian response, post emergency recovery, disaster risk reduction, mitigation and resilience building programmes. proactively engage in fluencing policies, strategies and practices, and also build institutional capacity of pie and its partners to effectively respond to livelihood related needs; with the overall objective of protecting, promoting and enhancing livelihoods of children and their families recovering from disasters and to ensure that children and their families affected live in a more disaster resilient environment

The Individual

  • B.Sc in Agriculture/ Agriculture Economics/Development Economics/,Rural Development, Development and Humanitarian Practices/,Food Security/Livelihoods or other related fields. MSc is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of progressive experience at advisory/supervisory level in the fields of FSL, recovery and resilience in similar organizations out of which at least 2 years of experience in senior management level with roles including direct supervision and line management of staff

Languages required:

  • Fluency in English language is essential
  • In addition to Amharic other local Knowledge of Local Languages is a desirable
