JOB SUMMARY

FHI 360 is looking for a seasoned Editor to support our global projects and help us make a positive impact through our technical publications.

Job Summary:

Edits technical and scientific documents including reports, briefs, success stories, journal articles, blogs, proposals, conference materials and presentations. Writes, reviews, edits and proofreads documents to ensure the integration of scientific, medical and regulatory input, as well as ensuring consistency with editorial style. Ensures compliance with company/project regulations and requirements. Effectively plans and

manages project timelines to meet deadlines.

Accountabilities:

  • Coordinates with content experts to resolve substantive questions, meaning, language and context of material.
  • Serves as project manager for specific publications/knowledge products.
  • Maintains consistency of voice, style, punctuation, spelling and grammar within writing and editing projects.
  • Serves on company task force, committees, and working groups as needed.
  • Develops new publication projects and produces documents in compliance with company standards and procedures.
  • Consults with authors to ensure appropriate audience is identified and reached once material is produced.
  • Provides technical expertise to staff on publication process, budgeting and scheduling of projects.
  • Serves as

    a supervisor to team members, schedules work plans, manages processes to complete publications on time and within budget.

  • Researches and writes material for special publications as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or its international equivalent in Journalism, English, Communications or related field.
  • Requires 5+ years of editorial experience in scientific, technical, or health communications.
  • Articulate, professional and able to communicate in a clear, positive manner with clients and staff.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak fluent English.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures with publication production and editorial processes.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated writing, editing, copyediting and proofreading skills.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Ability

    to motivate, influence and collaborate with others.

  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage projects effectively to accomplish goals.

Typical Physical Demands:

  • Typical office environment.
  • Ability to spend long hours looking at computer screen and doing repetitive work on a keyboard.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Ability to lift or move up to 5 lbs.

Technology to be Used:

Computer/Laptop, Microsoft applications (i.e., Office 365, SharePoint, Skype/Zoom/Teams), cell phone/mobile technology, and standard office equipment.

Travel Requirements:

Less than 5%.

The expected US-Based hiring salary range for this role is listed below. Candidate FHI 360 pay ranges represent national averages that vary by geographic location. When determining an offer amount, FHI 360 factors in multiple considerations, including but not limited to: relevant years of experience and education possessed by the applicant, internal equity, business sector, and budget.

 

Base salary is only one component of our offer. FHI 360 contributes 12% of monthly base pay to a money purchase

pension plan account. Additionally, all US based staff working full-time, which is calculated at 40 hours/week, receive 18 days of paid vacation per year, 12 sick days per year, and 11 holidays per year. Paid time off is reduced pro rata for employees working less than a full-time schedule.

 

US Based Hiring Salary Range: $70,000- $120,000

International hiring ranges will differ based on location.
