The Opportunity
ROLE PURPOSE:
The Project/ Programme Manager (PM) is responsible for managing Save the Children International’s (SCI) project portfolios allocated for him/her in Hatay. The Program Manager is capable of managing projects across various sectors, with a primary focus on education and livelihood. The ideal candidate should be skilled in managing multiple budgets.
The PM will ensure that all projects are implemented according to the work and procurement plan and maintain high-quality standards.
They will ensure that reports are submitted on time and that donor policies and regulations are followed with respect to financial, administrative, and visibility compliance. The PM will manage relationships with partners to ensure the timely implementation of project activities and partner reporting.
Additionally, the PM is expected to contribute to the design of new projects and to represent and advocate for Save the Children’s work and organizational priorities in relevant sectors. This includes engaging with external parties such as government representatives, communities, donors, the UN, and other humanitarian agencies operating in the area.
In order to be successful, you will bring/have:
Essential
Bachelor’s degree, and preferably post-graduate university degree, in social sciences.
At least 5 years of proven experience in program management within the humanitarian or development sectors, with a particular emphasis on Education and Early Recovery, though not limited to these areas.
Strong understanding of local market needs in early recovery phase, technical knowledge on TVET, employability and entrepreneurship programmes with a focus on adolescents and youth
Understanding of humanitarian and development issues, vulnerable populations’ needs, and social cohesion
Previous experience of managing and coaching a team, project management and partnership management
Experience of and commitment to working through systems of community participation and accountability
Demonstrated monitoring and evaluation skills
Experience and ability to represent an organization effectively in external forums.
A high level of written and spoken English and Turkish
Desirable
Expertise in Project/Program Management
Experience or knowledge of working and living in relevant regions/contexts
Politically and culturally sensitive with qualities of patience, advocacy, communication, and tact
Experience of preparing successful funding proposals for donors
Position holder will be based in Hatay, therefore legal right to work in Türkiye is necessary at the time of application.
