JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities
The incumbent will be responsible for the efficient organization and operation of the office of the Protection and Neutrality Department. S/he will be the focal point for all: 1. Human Resources tasks (35% of time). Outputs include and are related to successful recruitment processes; onboarding and departures of staff; training; timely PER reporting: accurate attendance schedules and reporting: staffing tables; and any other HR support to the Department Head and staff. 2. Office Administrative tasks (35% of time). Outputs include and are related to: efficient communications internally, externally and with HQ: filing: planning and logistical tasks to enable successful and productive meetings including minute taking and reports produced; coordination of agendas and schedules; efficient clerical tasks (photocopying, printing, shredding, archiving, sending messages): ensuring reliable travel arrangements: any other support Department Head and staff. 3. Office Space and Functional Support (30% time). Outputs include and are related to ensuring daily cleanliness of office (office is staffed 24/7): timely resolution of office maintenance issues; upkeep and disposal of furniture and assets; compliance with security: office is sufficiently supplied etc. 4. Performs other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor. – Internal contacts will be with the Department Head, staff of the PN Department, other UNRWA staff for coordination purposes. External contacts will be with visitors, suppliers, and contractors. – The Assistant Administrative Officer will not have managerial responsibilities.

Education
A university degree in business administration, or related field.
Work Experience
